Lol... that was my dad's typical pat on the back.
He's right. Sometimes people need humbling and sometimes they need picking up.
I remember all of the backlash for that and other things then. I just laughed. Half the team would have walked out of the room today in a lot of places.
We are so damn soft as a nation right now. No one wants to be held accountable. Kids need to learn how to take criticism, learn and own their schit to max effort in all you do. But, more than anything, they need tougher skins and resilient mindsets. Everyone should get the honor of holding a flashlight for their dad while he works on the car... that will toughen them up a bit.
