sugartown, ask any of these LSU poeple or Bama people. Saban downplays expectations all the time at the mic. He talks pretty regularly about how everyone expects to win and it gets to a point where no one is happy. There is nothing wrong with what Nutt is saying there. What do you want him to say, "we got a good team and we'll win the west?" no, he knows there is a weak link on his team that most likely a freshmen will be filling and he knows there's always the risk of injury, and he knows he don't have a speedy Mike wallace to out run double coverages and he knows the reason he made it to the cotton bowl was b/c there was only 1 other team playing well in the west so I don't see any problem with him cooling down expectations do you? logically?

Nutt belongs at the highest level of college football b/c he can do more with less better than anyone

Yeah...He did ask Wes Murphy is the funeral could be rescheduled

NO, it was to try to show up Nutt and succeed at the only program that really had easy success against him (cheating)
Get the frick out...You don't know shite and believe me, PC didn't have to cheat to beat Nutt. Scoreboard anybody...

Nutt parlays this Ole Miss gig into a top 10 job and then you'll be watching him win 10 to 12 games per year b/c let me tell you something, winning 7 or 8 games a year at Arkansas when most the competition has twice as many future NFL players as you do year after year, is the equivolent to winning 10 or 11 per year at alot of places.
You lost whatever string of credibility you had with this...

Whatever...dude is a walking excuse...it's always something...It was like that at Arkansas and now at Ole Miss where in your words he will parlay this into a top 10 job. A spade is a spade (non-racist) and that dude ain't changing

you need to go to espn and look at how many players in the NFL come from each SEC program each year on average and you'll be surprised. Hell right now LSU has 43 and we have 16. Auburn as 34. Then look where those players are coming from. You'll see Nutt did more with less b/c even Mississippi state and Ole Miss puts more guys in the NFL than we do.

yea that is what you have to do to keep alot of people interested. to buy time. Petrino made excuses for stuff this year. He practically blamed the Kentucky meltdown on all the receiver penalties not lining up correctly when he should have known the rules of teaching his receivers to line up. and he blamed the refs on the p.i. call at the end of the OM game. and that's just the ones I can think of. Wilie Robinson is making the excuse the defense he inherited was too small. That is what you do when you lose or you find yourself behind the 8-ball at a program that's already in the lower teir of the conference, you make excuses.
oh yea, he blamed player injuries for not having a better back up to smith. Well who the hell's fault is all these player injuries particlarly to tailbacks? We never saw this many major leg injuries under Nutt.

We really don't give a frick.....regardless how many times you try to tell us....

"The basic theme of the email was to demean and insult Mitch and I think he is the type of character that deserved that type of treatment."
So, what type of treatment does a character who feels the need to demean and insult an 18 year old kid? We're not talking about some other 18 year old kid, we're talking about a grown man, or a few grown men, who were so chickenshit they used some friend on the family to try to run off a kid who wanted nothing more than to be a Razorback.
Nobody is going to convince anybody else here. You are happy Hootie is there, and so are we. Your flame just tells me you are afraid of an Ole Piss crash come football season. Course you'll be nowhere to be found then.

Pankreb that is good. you might think I come across as a bullshiter but here is something Arkansas fans don't understand. Football is a tough game for tough young men. Men who want to succeed, men who want to buy into the team concept and be on the same page. Thats why Nutt has the team over to his place for barbeques. Everything Nutt does on and off the field relating to football is for the betterment of the team chemistry. Mitch cracked , he cried to momma b/c an (what should have been anonomys) email hurt his feelings. Well if he got his feelings hurt that bad and he didn't wanna try to buck up and play better then the email served it's purpose.

wildrebeltime,
I'm fricking confused as to what you think you are doing? You have to be an alternate here to stir up shite. If not please meet me in the Grove at the OM vs UofA game, I'll be blazing with Duke and ready to hear anything you have to say (not to mention ready to laugh at your pitiful existence.)

re: more with less, which you keep repeating -
that's not a good indication of 'more with less' at all. Utah undisputedly does more with less, yet probably doesn't have many in the NFL at all.
The Sporting News did a study to actually find out who did more with less. For 2004-2008, they took each team's incoming class's recruiting ranking and subtracted the team's end of year ranking. It's not perfect, but guess where Nutt's tenure at Arkansas falls?
Teams 1-10
Teams 11-66
(I'll give you a hint: check the second link. If you're still having trouble, check close to the bottom)

PankReb...Nothing to do about the refs...If you watch it there are two things going on...
1...On the catch, your boy just lost his balance and fell down. You don't fall like he did by not extending your arms...Which Crawford didn't do...He made a bad play and got lucky on the call...
2...The very next play the CB was using an arm bar to push the receiver out of bounds. It's clear as day on video. Petrino just pointed out and never put it out there like the refs were out to get us..

the common theme in player injuries is that it can boil down to a 1 or a combo of all these things; effort, conditioning, technique, confidence level, and bad luck.
At this time I feel like we have seen enough major leg injuries at tailback with Davis, Barnett, Johnson, Mike Smith, and Curtis (did i forget one) that compared to the number we've seen around the rest of the league and the number we use to see here in the past that there is something missing in the development of these athletes and bad luck is not the biggest factor.

oh of course not.....when both arms are at a 45 degree angle, then immediately at a 180 degree angle....that isn't extending your arms....

Posted on 5/18/09 at 9:28 pm to wildrebeltime
Running back is probably the most injury prone position. To blame injuries on the freak accidents of spring practice. Thats like saying that Nutt was personally responsible for Marcus Monk's senior season knee injury.

Are you gonna look me in the eyes (your monitor of course) and tell me he pushed him down...Really?
This must be some good shite

We didn't have a single running back get injured last year....not even a sprain..
And i would dare say that lineman get injured more than anyone else....too much weight/bodies..

I can't say that he pushed him down....it may have been a damn good acting job....
but the main thing that is indisputable is that the WR had 2 hands on the CB's back and both his arms went from bent to extended while his hands never came off the CB's back....
that, my friend, is PI and should be called every time no matter what.
