One thing you guys cannot deny....ESPN controls college football to a disturbing degree. If they get on the "rematch" bandwagon after Stanford and OSU lose...that train won't be stopped. Especially with your coach coming out and saying he would have no problem with a rematch. Kirk Herbstreit made a case for it on Sunday night's BCS show and now you have this ESPN writer advocating for it. Again, if ESPN starts pimping it...forget about it, it's a done deal.

why wouldn't they deserve a rematch?

tider04 just quit you are making a fool of yourself and Alabama (more then you already have since the win)
Rematch is fine by me but why would bama want to lose twice to the same team.

As an outsider, I said before the game that regardless of who wins, that the loser does not deserve a rematch. And if every team other than LSU has a loss, Oregon and Alabama should be the first two teams eliminated from the opportunity.

Go talk to your coach...his words sparked this thread. Les isn't a pussy like you. Here's to Les Miles, a coach with big balls for a school with fans with no balls....

So far (emphasis on those two words) 2011 is Miles' best season as a Tiger HC. Getting us this far without a Tebow or Richardson or Ingram or Colt McCoy or Sam Bradford, etc., is pretty damn strong leadership. Plus the 2011 team is playing at an executional level normally associated with a Saban-coached team. So far, so good.

If they beat us on our home turf, we wouldnt deserve a rematch.
If the home team wins, a rematch becomes a bit more realistic but its just illogical to do it when the road team beat the home team.

How am I the fool? I'm just agreeing with your head coach. If you have a problem with our stance(mine and Les Miles) go call him a fool. Thank you!

I'm sure they would. And my stance is that if Alabama had won out, LSU should have been the first team eliminated. The two teams played...we know who is the better squad this year.

All this "home team" stuff is a bit overrated. Especially in this series, it seems like the road team usually has an advantage. Les Miles agrees...he wants a rematch!

Les Miles = Jim Tressel With a hat instead of a vest. Thoughts?

Playing thugs turning the other way... Yes I see similarities between Tressel and Miles... RTR!!!
quote:
Yep... No way Saban plays the thugs Jefferson or Matthieu.
quote:
Tressell, or Miles? Oh wait - its BOTH. Both cheated and won a lot of games (and NC's) by looking the other way at players who shouldn't have been on the field. That's sorta what occurred to me last night. How are they really that different? Tress played Clarrett (one example among many) when he knew Clarrett was driving a new car provided by a booster - only kicked him off the team when the MEDIA found out about it. Miles is playing a guy who WOULD be in jail for Felony Assault if he wasn't an LSU football player - and three thugs who are illegal drug users. Miles is also in bed with street agents like Will Lyles, so if Miles isn't directly paying players, he's at least willing to pay FOR players. Am I wrong?
quote:
You are not wrong Tom. The only LSU player I have a problem with is Jefferson and you are exactly right, if he was not a LSU player, he would probably still be in jail. The only reason he is playing now is Miles knew he could not win every game with Lee. Winning alone does not a good coach make.
quote:
I think there are many posters on this board who have questioned this many times. You obviously missed all of the threads concerning the Jefferson and 3 pot smokers issues. Of course all predicted those players would all be playing at some point. That is the difference between Coach Saban and Miles.
quote:
Well, you are right and I can't deny it. Its sour grapes. And I suppose I'm a poor sport to be saying this. But as much as it sucks to lose a game we really SHOULD have won, to me, it sucks 10 times WORSE when you know your opponent is cheating. We know Les is in bed with Street agents. We know that Jordan Jefferson would be in the Angola penitentiary right now if he was Jordan Smith - a factory worker, and he committed the same crime in Baton Rouge. Its just like losing to *ubarn last year. When Florida beat us in Dec. 2008, I didn't have near the same feelings. I knew our guys played as well as they could have, and I knew that Florida (at least compared to most other SEC Teams) was a reasonably clean program. There were no questionable calls EITHER WAY by the refs - no blatant attacks on our players by the UF team. Just a great game that we lost. And I was ok with that. Every year it just gets tougher and tougher to love this sport.
quote:
Words Fail me. This is a coach who buys players from street agents, and has assistant coaches slipping improper benefits to recruits. Don't believe me? Just read the NCAA reports on infractions, and major media stories about Will Lyles' involvement with LSU. And you'd want THAT to coach at Alabama? We'd be on Probation- and probably the Death Penalty if any coach did those things at UA!!!! Sorry, I greatly "appreciate" Miles tremendous ability to overcome ethics and NCAA rules to Win at any cost. But I can't respect that!!!! Les is Jim Tressell in a ball cap. He's figured out how to say nice things while sticking a knife in your back. Tyrann matthieu says his coaches taught him how to punch other players in the back of the neck to take them out of plays. Is that how you want Alabama to play?
Hmm idk how you are a fool man.....

Sort of like we knew FSU was better than UF in 1996 right?

Well, I think maybe so could a lot of Bama fans. I wouldn't throw too much dirt at our fanatics, till you look hard at you and yours. Because I haven't seen very many of you willing to admit you lost, much less admit to have been beat by a superior team. Because you were beaten by a superior team. Yes, a superior team. A Team is made up of individual players, on Defense, Offense and yes Special Teams. Also for your fanatics: to qoute an old pro coach "Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda!"
Nice platitudes, but I agree with Miles, your team was a very good team, the best we have faced thus far this year. But everyone keeps getting better, so whoever the powers that be decide we play at the end of the year, we will strap it up and play them. Whether it is for the MNC or just another bowl game. We are LSU and we will play anyone, any time, any place.
Just thoughts from a crazy ol coot.
