re: Bayou Recruiting Bash

So, any word on vendors for the bash this year? Is it going to be down like last year? Between the Bowling at the River Center changing the venue format and the unfortunate showing in the BCS, it didn't seem as many vendors as in years past.

Yeah, I remember seeing you there. Crying as you were leaving. Guess you're upset that you couldn't win the attendance championship too. :violin: :booboo:

That's a shame. He was one of my all time favorite doctors. It will also make my issue to get my knee replaced that much more difficult with the VA. He was a strong advocate for all veterans in need. :usa:
He will be greatly missed.

Was that Dr. Diodene at the VA Hospital in N.O.? Prayers sent. Hoping it is not the same one. He has been helping me with my knee problem and the VA for years.

Wow, is he still mad about getting beat at home? Ask him why it took their genuis CNS 2 games to figure out what everyone at LSU had been complaining about for 4 years - we had no real QB?
I'm just saying.
I'm just saying.

Do the same thing again. See if they offer to match or exceed your new offer. Accept and then leave to the new job. Explained that was your notice. :moon: :moon: :moon:

This is where I have been staying for years: LINK / . They do up the price a bit during the CWS, but I've been so often I have a standing reservation (no deposit or CC) at the normal rate.
It is not fancy, but it is perfect for going to the games. It is right off the interstate, there is a laundry place on the other side of the interstate you can drop off your clothes. And with the new stadium, you can take the loop and drop off right by the stadium with virtually no traffic.
Have a great time, maybe I'll see you there.

Or allow teams to prepare accordingly....knowing QBA is out and your facing QBB is pretty important info.
Really, what advantage is that if everyone knows nothing like they do in college football. You have to adapt when playing a sport. It is for gambling purposes, which they lied and said it wasn't, or it is to point out minor issues for the opposing team - pick one!
quote:
No it's not - tackles and sacks are a part of the game - incentivizing a player to make more of them does not equal a specific bounty on a player where the goal is not just to obtain a sack, but to knock said specific player out of the game....If an NFL contract contained that type of incentive it would be illegal.
Really, gotta love semantics. It is the same thing - denying it is playing into the B.S. game they are playing to avoid lawsuits. It is easier and would be better if they came up with salaries based on their position and experience and age and injuries and their contribution level. If they need incentives, then limit it to making playoff games and how far they go in the playoffs. Besides, the monies involved were not even close to callin incentives! So that's a joke!
I agree SP needs to be punished. Money is always a good thing - make him contribute a year salary to head trauma research. Suspend him for a few games, but not a year. There is not precedent and it is spiteful. Yes he lied, yes the commisioner got his feelings hurt. But guess what, the owners are lying to him if he thinks he can do this to everyone that has been or is doing the incentives. 1st time offense is not the time to drop the hammer, and he didn't by warning them. However, 2nd time is not the time to over react either.

Obviously, some people miss the point the the NFL is encouraging this, has been encouraging this and will continue to encourage this sort of behavior.
All they are doing is trying to look good for current lawsuits. Over reacting is not neccessary.
If you still don't understand, I will try again.
1 The NFL requires teams to list injuries Thursday prior to the game. They have informed everyone including Congress it is not for gambling purposes - then it must be for helping the other team target individuals.
2 The NFL approved contracts allow for measurable feats - such as tackles or sacks, why because it is measurable. But in reality, it is still a bounty for the player that has the contract incentive.
Again, who is lying?

I don't understand this season ticket conspiracy theory. Were you going to choose to NOT renew your season tickets because Payton is suspended? That's asinine.
Really, I guess you get your tickets for free. Spend 6 figures for business and personal usage, and you will definitely think about it.
So who's lying now?
Posted by joe4funn69 on 3/26/12 at 9:40 am
So the commissioner waits till the week after we have to renew our season tickets to announce he is suspending our Coach. Who's lying now. He knew damn good and well what they were going to do to the coach. And it was personal.
Also, the NFL encourages this behavior. If it didn't you wouldn't see contracts with bonuses for x number of tackles or sacks. Quit the lying!
Also, the NFL was asked point blank if announcing the injury report on Thursdays was for gambling purposes and they said no. Well there is only one other reason to release an injury report before every game. So I guess that means it is released to put players in harms way. Quit lying!
The coach should be punished financially for not stopping this. But, New Orleans should not be punished for this. You want to take our coach away for a whole season. Fine, then let's start investigating the other teams and punishing them equally because this goes on at all levels to believe otherwise is not nieve, but insane. This has all been a case of CYA! Quit Lying!
Whew, feel better for getting that off my chest. Now where do I sign up for the class action suit against the NFL!

Back in the day, aTm had an in at West Jeff. Not sure which coach, but they stood by their promise to a running back named Holly Wilson who got injured in the playoffs back in the 70's.

LSU fans could learn alot from him.
Well, I think maybe so could a lot of Bama fans. I wouldn't throw too much dirt at our fanatics, till you look hard at you and yours. Because I haven't seen very many of you willing to admit you lost, much less admit to have been beat by a superior team. Because you were beaten by a superior team. Yes, a superior team. A Team is made up of individual players, on Defense, Offense and yes Special Teams. Also for your fanatics: to qoute an old pro coach "Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda!"
Nice platitudes, but I agree with Miles, your team was a very good team, the best we have faced thus far this year. But everyone keeps getting better, so whoever the powers that be decide we play at the end of the year, we will strap it up and play them. Whether it is for the MNC or just another bowl game. We are LSU and we will play anyone, any time, any place.
Just thoughts from a crazy ol coot.

I'm going with the 1970's. Sure, football was on its way down, and basketball hadn't really happened yet, and college baseball was years away from mattering, but....
Zeppelin.
Floyd.
Stones.
Bowie.
Elton.
Queen.
Dead.
Bruce.
Skynyrd if they didn't crash on the way.
The best concert at the PMAC while I was at LSU was the Goo Goo Dolls. Even though Johnny Reznik actually handed me his Strat from the stage at the end of the show, I'd've still preferred to see Pink Floyd rock out with an inflatable pig floating around while I tripped balls.
Damn, I was born 25 years too late.
And don't forget,Panty Raids, Streaking, Epic Band parties that everyone wanted to attend on Alaska St. The Enchanted Forest!
Football games being on TV were an occassion rather than the norm. Not being on TV made football games much more of an event then they are now. Now people show up to tailgate and party and maybe they go to the game. In the 70's, the only way you saw the game was to be there or use your mind's eye will listening to the radio.
Great places to party within walking distance from LSU - can't remember the name of the Biker Bar which later became the Plasma center, The Library, The White Horse, The Bengal, Shanahan's, and a couple of others that escape me now - way too much partying!
Could buy beer on campus downstairs in Hatcher in The Pub or was it The Keg.
KLSU had a fun audience participation show that got too far out of hand at the end and was canceled. It was great because you could only hear it on campus and that allowed almost anything to be said on air - unless the administration said something.
