What sucks is starting next year they are guaranteed a spot if ranked 12 th or higher. Why in the hell did the other conferences give in to this?

This mystifies me. It legitimately makes me wonder if a couple of key signatories got bribed lol. This is malpractice by any representative of a conference. And I have no idea how they could have gotten that through without the support of conference representatives.

Its ridiculous. I mean what is ND going to do if you tell them "no"? Not participate?

I recall ND getting similar special treatment (at least at times) during the BCS and 4-team playoff eras.
I would have liked to have played ND in the first round for the variety, but at the same time, I think Bama was the right call...especially after seeing how ND has showed its arse after being "snubbed."

Reminds me of the 15 year Learfield deal at Alabama.
Saban was opposed to it, so what provided the motivation?
