Hurts is the 8th or 9th best QB in the conference

What were Fromm's and Hurt's numbers against SEC only?
If Lock gets time to throw and his receivers get even a little separation he hits them. He does have a tendency to force a ball and get picked when that is not happening, but that's on his coach. If he was at UGA he would have thrown for at least 500 more yards in the SEC last season. So OP has a valid point

Explain to me how drop passes dont effect most QB stats?
They do, but I dont think you grasped what he was throwing ...
Also, its not like they only included dropped passes for Lock

If by "best" you don't mean "championship-winning," then I guess you'd be right. Maybe

There have been a lot of Championship winning QB's that were not particularly good on the college and pro level.
There were also a lot of excellent QB's who never won a championship.

I understand what you are saying, but what QB in the SEC has a better pedigree?
Jake Fromm without a doubt

It seems rather premature to dismiss him based on those stats without doing the same for the perceived #2 QB.
Take a look at all the stats posted, his fall dramatically when compared.
Again, Drew Lock is a good QB. I'm not arguing he is some bum. However, his overall stats are more skewed to huge games against awful, non-P5 teams than anyone else maybe in D1 football.

I didn't say otherwise. He is a good qb - not disputing that - but he isn't the best. To say so is just plain dumb

I wouldn't take Hurts or Fitz over him but I'd certainly take Fromm and probably Tua at this point.
I tend to agree with this.

Stidham would depend on how much I thought he'd improve between now and 2018.

Fromm is fantastic. He's a total stud back there.
He'd be my first pick in the league going forward without a doubt, especially with 2 more years of eligibility.

No help around him? What the frick are you talking about?
He's got one of the best TE in the country. One of the best deep threats in the country. Two very good RBs and an experienced OL that has been the best pass blocking unit in the SEC over the past couple of years.
For fricks sake

I love Fromm. He's a good talent and a good kid, to boot.
quote:Gotta tell you, I am a big fan of Tua's, in spite of what he did to us in the NCG. He looks to be a good one, too. That pass was a beauty...and, like Fromm seems to be a classy, high character kid, too. The SEC is lucky to have both of them.

We've seen this before. We had Matt Stafford, A.J. Green and Knowshon Moreno at one point and didn't win the East during Stafford's tenure. Think about that....

Pretty sure the key word in that sentence is “college.”

Stafford was very overrated, I'm sorry. I was never a big fan of him.
