You must feel really confident in those sources from back in November, tuck.
I'm more confident now than I was then if that means anything to you at all. I wish I could enjoy the AU pain a bit more but I have a lot of friends and family that are going to be affected by this (only in a fan way), but still, it will affect them. I know this because our probation was as bad a football experience as it gets. Being the whipping boy of the country for NCAA sanctions is not a fun experience. Especially if you want your program to do things the right way and you have an ounce of integrity. I was livid with the way our football program was being handled. The few rich boosters ruining hundreds of thousands of people's experience. Falls just were not the same after probation came.

The situation that AU is in is going to be much worse than what we endured.

It's weird. When I was getting all the "We won!!" texts from my family, there was the tigerdroppings part of me that wanted to text them back smart arse comments like "are you going to vacate that t-shirt when the shite hits the fan?" I couldn't ruin their fun though. Hell, I haven't even told them what I know. They are family and friends after all. Being through what we as Bama fans have been through, I just couldn't rub it in.

Ross, I honestly believe it will all come out and it will be so ugly that it will be impossible to make fun of the good AU fans because they will turn on the people that ran their university, just like I did. The shitty AU fans will definitely get theirs, but you good guys won't deserve it.

What is frustrating to see, at least from my perspective, is the AU fans that are being deceived and going on the attack. Granted, AU is getting hammered in the public perception department. I don't see how an AU fan can't come out to defend them until this stuff becomes common knowledge. I guess I would too. I guess you guys can use the "there is no evidence" defense for a while longer. I don't know how much longer, but I'd definitely say it's coming to a close in the near future.

The main problem I see with AU fans at the moment is that you would think AU fans would be a bit more humble about the situation they are in. The smoke around this thing is blinding. The problem is going to be much like what Tennessee had when Kiffin left. They defended all his shitty antics and then boom he fricked them. This will be much the same way except orders of magnitude worse. The guys that have been defending Cam and his father will hate them. And if they don't already hate BL and PD (and all the rest of them), they will before it's over.

They was not part of this scam. They paid their hard earned money to support their team just like every other fan base. They wait all their lives to earn some respect from around the nation, and not be thought of as a little cow college and Alabama's little brother. Then everything backfire's in their face. It is not the fans fault.

As a Bama fan, I admit I enjoy the crap they're getting. But they'd be the same way to us.

I hope they have to vacate this season(we ARE rivals), but if I was them, I wouldn't care too much. They did win it on the field. Whether or not Cam was paid, they fielded a team that beat our team. Money didn't make Cam a better player.

I am tired of Auburn fans talking about whipping our arse though. One point is not an arse whipping, 36-0 is an arse whipping.

tuck everlasting <3

You're a good dude and I feel much the same way.

For the good AU fans I know in real life, I feel sorry for them.

I have, however, noticed a disturbing trend of some normal level headed AU fans getting more "AU internet fan like" in real life.

It sucked big ones to get hit the way Alabama did, but at least all that was taken away was some wins.

Can you imagine the pain of having a title vacated???

The only one these fans have ever seen?

Good, that would suck.

My friends on facebook have definitely been acting more 'CPA than Ross' lately. I normally keep the rivalry out of 'real life' as much as possible, but a lot of Auburn friends I didn't take as 'bad fans' have been insane since they won.

I get they were hungry for a 'Ship, but good grief.

Oh my, yes.

I have one AU friend who is a high school teacher.

A normal suburban mom, Junior League, serves on the church committees etc.

She has been an absolute nightmare on facebook.

Like, nasty and insulting and over the top.

She is FB friends with many of her students (which I think is inappropriate anyway, but that's another conversation) and many of her students are Alabama fans.

If my kids were old enough to be in any of he classes, I would have serious problems with the way she has conducted herself.

I keep my shite talking and poo flinging here as an outlet - that way it doesn't effect my real life.

Tuck, it sounds to me like you've been hearing the same kind of stuff I have. If it is true, then I really am going to feel terribly sorry for the good auburn people. Because, as much as I hate auburn, they don't deserve to have to go through that kind of shite. They are really good people and just do not deserve it. However, there are the fans that I wish could get raped by a horse because they are so irritating. And only getting worse in the past week. Whatever is true will come out eventually(I've been hearing that that something may come out in the next couple of months, but I don't really know how much faith to put in that timeframe)

That's been my experience. My own parents have turned into jerks about it(that's OK. All three of us kids have at least attended UA, and we'll take care of them when they're elderly).

I didn't realize what gracious losers they are, until I saw how bad they are at winning.

And that doesn't go for all AU fans. There's a lot of good AU fans out there, and for them I'm happy.

No need to worry about Auburn fans. Damn right I will defend my school until proven otherwise and if that seems arrogant that is not my intent. Also, you will find hardly a post from me boasting of our NC in TD except for an occasional one here and there.

If something comes out about Auburn, boosters, admin, etc and causes a lot of pain for the school and sports programs, Great let it happen and hopefully we can finally remove the trash. If there is a fan of Auburn that would be OK with cheating I have not met them.

I guess if everything everyone who hates Auburn says on here is true we will all find out soon enough. If it happens than let the cleansing begin.

Well you may have never met any, but sadly I have. It annoys me because I know that people like them make auburn fans in general look bad. One told me the other day that he didn't give a shite if they cheated, all he cared about was that they won the NC. And that if it means more NCs in the future, to keep cheating. I know a couple of auburn fans that would've kicked his arse if they had heard him say that.

Would it offend you if I picture the singer from Oasis saying that as he exhales meth from a light bulb?

Well that is sad and hope he was just pimping to deflect criticism. However, the many friends and family that are alums or fans feel as I do.
Like I said if there is truth to what is being claimed and the authorities are going to bring a hammer than it will come. Than everyone in here can have a field day if they feel so inclined.

I find it interesting how bold we all become behind a screen name and how our humanity seems to be shed as we type upon the keyboard. I would venture to say very few of us would make the same bold and harsh statements face to face. Some may avoid, but few would engage as we seem to do within the confines of TD or other MB sites.

I find it interesting how easy it comes to us to hope for pain, failure, or destruction all because we are fans and alums from opposing schools or someone offended us and paint the rest with a broad brush. Believe me I do not hold myself blameless as I have engaged in such behavior out of anger, or thinking its funny.

I wonder if any of us stop to think that the person we are terrible to just might be our neighbor, a colleague, someone we attend a church with, our Dr, etc.

This line of thought has been weighing upon me lately. Do I really hate Bama the university and its fans, students, and athletes? No I don't. Do I hate other fans because we play against each other in sports or one of them may have been rude? No I don't.

I know I may get blasted for posting thoughts like this and so what. I am tired of the back and forth meaness because of a sport, institution or colors of our school. What happened to good old fashioned ribbing or playful banter with respect?

Oh well sorry for going on a rant here just the way I am seeing things recently. It kind of happens when tragedy strikes it makes you think about what really is important. By the way bamaboy I wasn't singling you out my thoughts were about message boards in general.

Make no mistake, I certainly have run into Marietta "aubun" fans. They are a special breed of stupid.
