I find trash talking at work a little low class and unbecoming of a physician. At the same time, it’s much more satisfying to say nothing and have a colleague break down and say something like “I know you want to gloat” to which I would respond with something like “no, Auburn played well. You should be proud. We were lucky to escape with a win.” Always better to kill them with kindness. Living well is the best revenge.

A former partner of mine (an Auburn fan, unsurprisingly) was the opposite of me. If Auburn won, he was prone to decorate someone’s office with Auburn paraphernalia and change their screensaver, etc. He was also the kind to make a big deal of every loss Alabama suffered. When you encounter a person like that, you learn how not to behave.

Anyone that lived in the state the week after the kick 6 knows Auburn and their fans deserve every ounce of shite they receive for one of the biggest choke jobs ever witnessed.
I guess it's easy to talk about class as a Missouri fan when you have no real rival, much less one you have to share a state with. I've had to watch you guys try to manufacture a rivalry with LSU this year just to have someone to talk shite with.

In my personal experience, Auburn fans have more of a chip on their shoulder and more bitterness, and love to play the victim. Alabama fans have more of a sense of entitlement and superiority. I’m biased, but I’d rather hang out with the latter.

I guarantee you’d have more fun hanging with me for a Bama game than your average Auburn fan.
I probably do have an inflated sense of self if I’m being honest and self-critical, but I’m not entitled. I realize how spoiled I have been as a Bama fan and I don’t take it for granted. I don’t get mad at losses any more; we’ve won so much the past 17 years that I feel almost unworthy.
