Only difference is that actually WAS a fumble. It was a fumble that we recovered while the play was live and scored.

Exactly why I think it was poetic justice. Tech fricked themselves on a similar albeit legal play that played a huge role in us ruining their season. We didn't luck out with shoddy officiating. Our guys not only forced a fumble, but played til the whistle and the officials had no choice but to award us the ball, even with replay. So not only did we essentially achieve the same thing that Tech did with the phantom Sanks fumble, but Tech can't even have the satisfaction of bitching about how unfair the call was.

Fanbases around the country attack one another for sidewalk fans, but NO ONE epitomizes this concept like the pieces of trash around this beautiful state that support your program (SIC 'EM WOOF WOOF WOOF). Every d-bag with a camo jacket, bad facial hair, and a Jawja hat*** can walk right up and join the cohort of dumbasses that compose your fan base.
Athens is a dump. If you can sift through the aspiring-Great Clips-hairstylists and dental hygienists, you'll find the super-bright Grass Turf Management major that actually belongs in the student section. Except one thing- he got his GED, spent 2 years at Gainesville State scraping out a 3.2 and transferred in.
Some of you might think to yourself- that's not me! And maybe it's not. But the world will never know it. Your school's fanbase/student body is so watered down with filth that they're dragging you down with them. You think "I'm a Georgia fan for life!", but so is every Athens Tech student that made it into the endzone section. Your live-or-die commitment to a football program is ruined and worthless.
Yes, we do say "We'll drop the battleaxe on Georgia's head" in our fight song, White and Gold. We do yell "to hell with Georgia". You make fun of all this simply because you have zero/zilch/nunca traditions of your own to compare them to. These traditions/songs are from a time when the college football world was much smaller. You didn't play away games in California or Illinois back then. We will not apologize for continuing our traditions. We are referenced in other schools' fight songs and traditions, for the same reasons. Many of you yourselves have admitted to your hatred for Georgia Tech. If you had a fight song, maybe we would be in it. Instead, you've ripped off one of America's treasures and stunk the whole thing up to high heaven.
You have beaten us more often than not. I wish I could change that, but we are very different institutions and I am not ashamed of the level of play we bring year-in and year-out, regardless of who is on the other side.
I will not apologize for hating your guts, and I will not apologize for loving the hell out of it.

I have no knowledge of how deep your rivalry runs. But I will always remember when GT put MSU stickers on their helmets when Nick Bell died. We didn't even play each other last year, but it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
