I think the playoffs need to be expanded but it’s just going to make a couple more bowls relevant. The remainder will still be seen as completely pointless. I don’t think you will see as many bowl opt outs as you did this year next year though.

A&M stops SEC run teams. There aren’t many of those that can actually compete this year. Look at the Vegas line. A&M would be getting 11 points from OSU. I don’t always take my advice from Vegas, but if you like the odds, play them from time to time. Fields hasn’t been that good because the team has had no reps. Blame the shitty Big Ten for that, not OSU.

Does the same team win March Madness every year? Does the same team win the CWS each year? Expanded playoffs means that more teams have a shot.

Football is an extremely different sport at the college level. Do you really think teams 5-8 or 16 would really have any chance? Hell, the 3rd and 4th teams don’t even have much of a chance. Expanding the playoffs is just a superficial bandaid to the real problem. Competitive disadvantage

Yes, they would have a chance. But the reality is that the fans would be vested outside of the top four, which means less players opting out early, more money for the bowls, etc ..

I tell you what
It was nice not having to pay for tickets and parking this season
I wonder how many make that decision I can take a nice vacation with family over football
Especially with the mindset of today’s players
