They had a short honeymoon with the initial thrill of something new and excitement over winning the arms race by adding a big Texas school with potential. There was the history with Bear Bryant and Gene Stallings, etc. Then they got a lot of praise when Manziel took down Bama. But it has been downhill ever since. Years of big expectations followed by bad seasons, and the insufferable Jimbo Fisher who tried to take down the king and missed. Then came the whining about Texas joining but not backed up by any real action to stop it. They just don't have anyone's respect. Most of their fans are solid people but their administration and coaches have embarrassed them.
There has never been a school that has talked so much shite year after year with so little to show for it. I do think they still have huge potential but there is something broken within their core culture that will have to be rooted out first.
Alabama will be the first victim to Texas A&M in football. That is how it will get fixed!

They brought it on themselves when they joined the conference years ago, bragging about how they were going to take over the SEC. They've gotten a good dose of reality since and aren't as arrogant as they initially were.

Considering they never came close to taking over the Big 12, that attitude seems misplaced at best.
I felt like they acted as if they won something big but felt that was more directed at the Big 12 schools they couldn’t beat consistently. Didn’t know they came in directing that at SEC teams as well.
