nothing wrong imo on being happy with easily seen improvement.

I'll tell ya though the inability to finish was maddening
the game was right there for the taking the other night and we didn't have someone who could put it away
Retin is gone next year so we're going to have to develop our "The Man" on the team next year - every team needs someone who isn't afraid of having the ball in his hands when the shot clock is off and you're down two

True. Pearl can definitely recruit and coach them up and Auburn should be a legitimate NCAA tourney threat next year. The point being made though is that he'll be going into his 3rd season. Some of you are downplaying Johnson and giving him crap for not improving on the win total of Grant despite playing both a tougher non-conference schedule and an improved conference schedule and losing the top 3 scores from last year's team. By any objective standard, Johnson's first year at Alabama was much more successful than Pearl's first year at Auburn.

What age do you consider old ? When I was 12, 30 seemed old. That is the image I have of you , based on your posts.

he's been very fun to watch and i've heard the commentators mention he's in grad school so evidently a smart guy. but i've never heard the guy speak- what nationality is he? i'm assuming by name he's not a natural born 'merican.

He's from Belgium. His parents are Nigerian. He doesn't sound all that foreign when he talks

Alabama should be in the tournament every year and every year they aren't is a failure.
