I never said he did. In the rare possibility that he does I could see something happening. Leath and whoever offered him that insane contract put the AD in an terrible situation long term. I remember years ago thinking Bret Bielema’s buyout was ridiculous. This buyout defies all logic. It’ll take something crazy for us to buyout his contract. Otherwise he’ll be our coach this season and next.

Gus has never come remotely close to losing the team.

It was close last season after MSU...to his credit he righted the ship.

Understood and I agree. Chiz got fired for losing the team. He lost the team and coaching staff badly and I've never understood how that happened.

Gus, on the other hand, has 1st and 2nd round draft picks coming back even after a disappointing year.

I don't think it was close but there was some grumbling do to the poor offense. Gus, and Steele, did a great job of quickly pulling them back together.

Richt 2.0...y'all will remain "almost good enough" for another 20 years. #thisisouryear

ETA: No pun intended on 2.0

Also--Kirby is great, but you could've kept Richt and been in the same position.

They are spaced out though. None are back to back, and they get a bye before Georgia

so we are actually lucky then?

I love it. Just about every weekend is a must see game. You can say what you want about Auburn but you can't call them boring. If the QB position pans out the season could very interesting.

Here is to limited injuries for all

Richt never would've been smart enough to hire Pittman.

I have one decent source and it was closer than most think...if they had fought back against A&M things would have gone very different. IMO Gus' ability to hold on to a team hasn't been given the credit it deserves.
