Sure you can. But what you can’t argue is that Texas went into your stadium and walked out with a double digit win.
Everything else is pure speculation with no basis in fact.

I know you are a Bama fan, but objectively, if both teams finish 12-1 with conference championships, why should Texas’ win be discounted?

None of that overcomes the fact in this scenario Big XII Champion Texas would have the convincing double digit win over SEC Champion Alabama, in Tuscaloosa none the less.

Like I’ve said more than once on here tonight, any success Bama has only serves to make the Longhorns win over them look all the more impressive. I’m sorry, it just does.

We'll see how things shake out. However, I like our chances so long as two undefeated teams drop a game and Alabama wins out.

If the situation was reversed, I’m sure these people would be saying that even though Alabama won in Austin, Texas should go ahead of the Tide because darnit they just look really good right now.

It’s not the undefeated teams that will keep Bama out, it’s the one loss teams, namely Oregon and Texas, especially Texas thanks to their head-to head win, that stands in Bama’s way.

Bama can still get in. But they’ll need to beat Georgia and then hope Oregon and Texas, again especially Texas, both lose.

Head to head has to count for something, otherwise kiss those big time regular season OOC games goodbye going forward.

May as well anyway. There’s 0 reason to schedule these games.

Committee has made it clear.

Record & Head to Head are the two main points of emphasis in the committee.

Scheduling a tough OOC opponent provides holds much more negative weight than positive within the current format.

12 team may be a little better, but LSU would be in a 12 team playoff this year if they played a cupcake in week one. As of now, they aren’t.

Had an Alabama friend make the "I'm stunned Alabama isn't ranked higher than Texas" argument last week. I thought he was making an argument but he was generally pissed about ludicrous it was for anyone to even suggest that Texas should be ranked higher.

You mean in addition to the other two cupcakes they intentionally scheduled this year.

I guess the irony is that Texas has to have Alabama and Texas win out and Alabama doesn't want or need Texas to win out.

I'm trying to figure if that is a better argument for either team.

Bama beating UGA trumps a loss to Texas. Bama gets in if they beat Georgia.

When it comes talking to talking to Bama fans and their team, it’s like talking to Greta Thundburg and Climate Change. No amount of facts and logic will change their mind.

I know you want that to be true. But what you’re failing to understand is Bama beating Georgia in Atlanta only makes Texas beating Alabama in Tuscaloosa, in convincing fashion, look that much better.

The SEC will not get left out of the playoffs. I will bet my house on that....Also, this just shows conference playoffs do not help the teams get to the playoffs for the most part.

Bama. Had they not played them, they would be.

This.

The SEC has had 10 teams in the CFP championship game in the last 8 years. That streak isn't going to be broken if Bama beats UGA in their home state and ends their 28 game win streak. It might not be "fair" this year to someone, but its happening.

Georgia is is the best team.

Based on what I've seen, there's not gonna be a 1-loss UGA heading into the playoffs this year.

How much equity do you have in a doublewide manufactured in 1977?

Nah, I 'd put them in over Bama but not over UGA.
