How would you attack a defense like Bama had this year?

Vertically? Quick passes to beat the rush?

Basically with the same offensive gameplan they used against LSU as the two defenses were similar

Not a bad option

not with 10 straight runs while down 2 scores.
imo you have to go vertical on them early. once you do that you move to more balance.

Misdirection and backside passes, end leakouts?

I would feel this guy should be on the offensive line.

With a much better QB than Clint Moseley

Go deep and try to throw it over the secondary's heads. Just hope your QB gets enough time for the receivers to get down the field. The front seven isn't going to give you anything on the ground, or in the short passing game. The DB's also play up close to the line. Your only hope is to try and burn them deep.

Do you really think they spent much time preparing for that game?

Probably not, but it moved the ball.

I think you could hit some short passes.

lots of screen passes.

Pass as much as you rush. Take some deep shots early. That's how Florida and Ole Miss put up points right off the bat.

Somewhat, but I think a team would need to get their linebackers thinking to defeat them. Allow them to bull rush and slip the TE out into the flat. The backside passes might work, but more pinpoint passing towards the sidelines would be more beneficial. I think LSU could have run the ball against the Alabama defense by going straight at them, but gave it up too soon and started doing pitch option. It was clear for the past 3 seasons we did not have a QB who could run the pitch option.
