1938 : Tennessee has the best claim of the 3
8-1 Notre Dame LINK Lost final game to Southern California
11-0 Tennessee LINK Beat multiple ranked teams including Oklahoma in Orange Bowl
11-0 TCU LINK Played no ranked teams

1939
Cornell - so so claim
Texas A&M - good claim
Southern Cal - good claim, they beat #2 Tennessee in the Rose Bowl

The last time A&M played a Patterson-coached TCU, they won 28-9.

Not sure that's any more indicative than Saban's first year at Alabama. Which is to say, not at all.

If you can type "current" 3x's in one reply, why couldn't you post it once in your original statement?

There has only been one conference who had consecutive championships with different schools.

Every other time a conference had back to back titles, it was the same school.

1941: Minnesota
1942: Ohio State
