How about just do away with divisions.. lock 3 rivals and rotate 6 every year..
you play 3 teams 4 times in years and get a home and home with the other 6 in a 4 year span., top 2 play for title. .. pretty simple..

BAMA - AU, UT, LSU
ARK - USC, MIZZ, TEXAS
AU - BAMA, UGA, UF
UF - UGA, AU, UK
UGA - UF, AU, USC
UK - UT, UF, VU
LSU - A&M, BAMA, OM
OM - LSU, MSU, VU
MSU - OM, USC, OU
MIZZ - ARK, OU, TEXAS
OU - TEXAS, MIZZ, MSU
USC - ARK, UGA, MSU
UT - BAMA, UK, VU
TEXAS - OU, A&M, MIZZ
A&M - LSU, TEXAS, ARK
VU - UT, UK, OM

Because that’s too confusing for the layperson. Remember when the B1G tried legends and leaders? It was a failure bc none of the casuals knew who what is what division.

They are going to do 4 divisions of 4 like an NFL conference for that simplicity and so the rest of country knows who plays where.

the pods is a lot more confusing.. my guess is they are absolutely Going to do it this way.. it makes it as simple as possible.. no divisions; best 2 records play for title. You basically are only keeping 3 rivals as compared to currently having 7 per team. And you go through the entire league home and home every 4 years.

Most the experts believe there will be no divisions.

The pod thing is dumb because you end up with 4 division champs, you can’t expand another game with the possibility of the playoffs expanding.

Leave it as is and then put okie in the East and Texas in the West. That's simple enough

Sankey said on SECN , in February that there is a chance they would not have divisions. He didn’t even address 2 larger divisions or 4 divisions.. so lols like he is preparing the SEC for this.

Sankey is just playing politics

They are doing pods, it’s been essentially confirmed since the expansion was announced

I wouldn't mind getting rid of divisions if round robin was possible.

Auburn, Florida, and Georgia in the same division?

I'm an LSU fan and that does not seem fair at all lol

Fair or not, the simplest thing is moving Bama and Aub to the East and Mizzou to the West. Go to 9 conference games and get rid of permanent cross divisional opponents.

No, the simplest thing is 4 team pods and everyone plays everyone home and home every 4 years

It’s also the only way to fairly schedule a 16 conference

Okay then how do you decide who plays in the SEC title game?

There are different ways to do that but it’s less relevant in an expanded playoff anyway.

They want to tell ESPN or Amazon or whoever that when you buy the SEC rights for an 8 year term, you will get every possible SEC matchup 4 times, and at every home stadium twice. They aren’t going to have a situation where Texas doesn’t play at The Swamp for 27 years or whatever. There’s too much value in selling a game like that just so Auburn and Georgia play every year instead of every other year.

Going forward the SEC will have more in common with the NFL than it will the SEC of 40 years ago.

How about creating tie-breakers to sort same-record teams.

This is 1 of the WORST suggestions on scheduling.

Also, DROP SC from UGA's list, replace it with Tenn., & let SC/Ky. meet annually.

Pods are EASY to remember.
They'll pair up pods for a "divison of 8" with best team in each group of 8 is SECCG contestant.

Y1 - AB vrs. CD
Y2 - AC vrs. BD
Y3 - AD vrs. BC

Why put teams from all over in the same pod?

Makes as much sense as Mizz. in the East.

Catch is figuring out how to keep annual rivals not in your pod.
