I see the appeal of more football and a symmetrical rotation with the ten game schedules - but I think a ten game conference schedule is just too much. It would be a disadvantage for the conference relative to other conferences with a smaller schedule and fewer automatic losses.
There's also lost revenue from fewer home games. Television contracts won't really go up exponentially if you increase from nine games/team (144 total) to ten games/team (160 total). And the typical school makes millions from the filler home games on the schedule. I would also guess the Georgia and Florida programs with a neutral site game and out of conference major opponent also don't want their schedule to only have five games some years.

8 games? Mine is 9 games.

& that requires tie-breakers to be created to sort state-ranked teams.

But your way has 7 games (your podmates + paired podmates) & then 1 whomever.
How do you determine Game 8?
In paired pods, you have 2 8-team "divisions"...just not the same 8 teams each year. & all 8 of those schools DO have a round-robin schedule.

The best option and the option they will most likely go with.

Not to mention the 4 SEC schools with in-state ACC rivals counting as Game 11....leaving 1 slot for anybody while the other 12 have 2 openings.

It's simple .
Go to a 9 game conference schedule.
West
OU
TX
ARK
Mizzou
South
A&M
LSU
STATE
OLE MISS
Central
BAMA
AU
TENN
VANDY
East
KY
UGA
USC
UF
Play the 3 conference games in your division
Play 3 rivals every year not in division
Play 3 random SEC games
Every SEC would play every other SEC once in a 4 year span.
(With the 3 locked non divisional rivals it would protect rival games.
(AUBURN VS UGA), (LSU vs UF) , (TENN vs KY)..etc.etc
Real simple. Still keep 3 non conference games
Go to a 9 game conference schedule.

The reason I say it's important every SEC team will play once in 4 years at least is because 3 to 4 years is a recruiting cycle.

How do you determine Game 8?
For example let’s say you’re UT. You’re in the Dixie division with Alabama, State, and Kentucky
Your permanent opponent is Vandy.
So in Year 1 when the Dixie Pod is paired with the Peach Pod to create the Blue Ridge division.
This means that the Cotton Pod and the Magnolia Pod combine for the Delta Division
UT would play:
Alabama
@ Kentucky
Mississippi State
@ Florida
Georgia
@ South Carolina
Auburn
@ Vanderbilt
In Year 2 when the Dixie Pod combines with the Cotton Pod to create the Ozark Division
UT would play:
@ Alabama
Kentucky
@ Mississippi State
tu
@Oklahoma
Missouri
@ Arkansas
Vanderbilt
In Year 3 when the Dixie Pod and the Magnolia Pod combine you have the Gulf Shores Division
UT would play:
Alabama
@ Kentucky
Mississippi State
@ LSU
Texas A&M
@ Vanderbilt
Ole Miss
@ Georgia(or rotate between other opponents)
Then you flip that schedule the next three years.
Simple.

This would be nice but has never been a thing before.

I got that, but some teams have more than 1 "must play".
Ex.: LSU
must play Ala. & Fl.

I mean yes, Geographically it makes sense.
I was really thinking about how it would put y'all at a disadvantage but whatever you say boss lol.
Go ahead and have to play Bama and Auburn and Florida every single year, that works for us.
Makes our Road to Atlanta and a potential CFP berth significantly easier.
Then y'all would know what it was like to be in the toughest division in college football for a change.
Outside of the last few years, UGA wouldn't have been shite in the west. Hence why y'all consistently get EXPOSED in your own backyard in SEC title games. Y'all are 3-6.

So your logic is to trash Ga. due to the other Eastern schools? Got it.

I'm not trashing UGA due to other eastern schools.
UGA really hasn't been shite in my lifetime.
UF has been more successful than y'all, they are in the east too. Difference is, they actually win when they get to ATL.
Now all of the sudden y'all back door your way into a title rematch with bama. (Y'all deserved to be there for sure but still) and y'all think y'all are some kind of dynasty or some shite.
Simply stating that I don't thing UGA would be UGA if they weren't in the east. Y'all made it to atlanta NINE times only because y'all were in the east, just get rolled over by a western Division team.
If you think that they remain as competitive in the title hunt having BAMA, UGA, Auburn, and UF in the same division, you're crazy.

I've never said that. I know the change of team formats will alter the usual season-end standings. All we can do is wait to see what the new look will be in a few years.

HOW is it a mess?
You've seen everybody in 3 years & FULL H/H in 6.
Ex. Team A1 schedule:
Y1 - A2, A3, A4, B1 (fixed Pod B opponent), B2 (paired pod), B3 (paired pod), B4 (paired pod), C1 (fixed Pod C opponent), D1 (fixed Pod D opponent)
Y2 - A2, A3, A4, B1 (fixed Pod B opponent), C1 (fixed Pod C opponent), C2 (paired pod), C3 (paired pod), C4 (paired pod), D1 (fixed Pod D opponent)
Y3 - A2, A3, A4, B1 (fixed Pod B opponent), C1 (fixed Pod C opponent), D1 (fixed Pod D opponent), D2 (paired pod), D3 (paired pod), D4 (paired pod)
Y4 - Y1 (switch sites)
Y5 - Y2 (switch sites)
Y6 - Y3 (switch sites)
It's actually pretty effective. I like it, but honestly it's complicated and nebulous compared to two regional 8-team divisions. A long way around to have 6 fixed opponents instead of 7. I like it ok but I don't expect it to happen.
Sidenote: UGA fans seem to be against playing Bama yearly.

It does appear that way. Guess we should have added teams from the east instead. Too late for that one.
