Well, I remember this line from his time with the Jazz. “Pete, turnaround double pump 35 footer…got it!”

He played 13 complete seasons combined in college and the NBA

In the NBA he only played about 4 COMPLETE seasons. He had recurring ankle and knee injuries.
BTW, in his first 3 seasons with the Hawks, they made the playoffs.
His last season in the NBA was the first time he was able to take 3 point shots. He averaged 67% from 3 (10 of 15)

He isn’t considered one of the best quarterbacks ever despite his eye popping stats because he never won a super bowl. If you look at almost any list of top ten NFL quarterbacks all time Dan Marino will not be on most despite having better stats than at least half of the players ahead of him. The job of a quarterback, or any player, is to win the football game, not pass for 400 yards.

If this is the hill you want to die on then go right ahead.

The NBA used to be nuts. The Hawks finished 4th or 5th in their division each of those three seasons and had a losing record two of those three seasons. And they still made the playoffs. Quite the accomplishment, similar to qualifying as 15th seed to play in the SEC conference tournament.
