Would be at least 4 years at LSU. Anything less would only be due to Miles' talent.

Tiger n Miami is the worst auburn poster on this board. At least Phan seems like he's on on the joke. Tiger n Miami is mad on here and almost certainly a grade a douche in real life. Ignore him. Life's too short.

I think the landscape of college football has changed. They have created offensive rules to prohibit defensive minded coaches from being as dominant as Saban used to be. That said i think the Mississpippi schools have too many disadvantages to win a national title. Auburn is capable but Gus getting lucky enough to get into a title game but lose and then finishing the next season at nearly 500 with nearly his entire team returning along with his starting QB and shitting the bed certainly didn't elevate him in many eyes.
I may be wearing red and blue tinted glasses but I think ole miss can and will be in a national championship in the next 5 years.
Call me crazy on that one. But we FInally have sec quality depth and huge playmakers something the alabamas and Georgia's and Lsu have had and used to dominate and wear down opponents.
That is a very interesting take on Malzahn I hadn't thought about it in that perspective.. I guess there would be a few rumblings and rumblings from the fans.
he had that game won. That win would have saved him presumably for ten years or so...
Unless he proved to be a chizik I guess. And Malzahn won that championship anyway.

It's hard to read some of the crap that people are posting on this thread. I believe Saban would have the Gamecocks at their peak in 4 to 5 years. Anyone that would take another coach over Saban is a retard.

Haha! 8 posts now and my opinion still hasn't changed. You can't really tell me that you'd take Freeze over Saban. What has Freeze ever done?

You're an idiot. This isn't a playstation game. He even had to have a lot of luck to win at Alabama.

2016 for UT, but Tennessee will be loaded as frick that year.

There is a whole lot of wishful thinking by a lot of fan bases in this thread.
Is Saban the best coach in college football? Maybe. Urban Meyer has to be in the discussion as well, but yes, Saban is either the best or 2nd best and, by far, the best in the SEC.
But, with that said, just because he's one of the 2 best coaches in college football doesn't mean he would win a National Title at your school. There is a great divide in college football between the "Cans" and "Can Nots". The "Cans" will win NC's when all the pieces come together. The "Can Nots" will never win a NC regardless of who their coach is.
There is a HUGE reason why there is a Big 6 in the SEC. These are the "Cans" programs. They have all the resources and recruiting bases in place that when they do get a "Saban" type coach they win big. All the others aren't going to win any type of championship regardless who their coach is.
This will ruffle some feathers, but until someone outside of Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, and Tennessee actually win some hardware, it's a Fact.

Arkansas, Mississippi, and Texas A&M have won hardware.

You haven't watched many State games over the last 5 years then. Him and Freeze are the same. They have flashes of brilliance and then they call something retarded that costs them a game.
Every coach does this. Every. Single. Coach. It's just more catastrophic if OM or State does it. Don't have the talent or players to make up for mistakes sometimes. Mullen usually learns from his. You probably know more about Freeze, and maybe the same is true for him.
Mullen would never lose at Bammer??

If I'm an OM fan, I'm flat out embarrassed by hanging that banner when they didn't even actually win the West.

Except they DID win the West that year.

It only took Meyer 2 years, so with Saban I'd say 3 maybe 4 at most
Zook may not have been the best gameday coach, but he left that place absolutely stocked with talent for Meyer. Mushcamp did not do the same for the next guy.

1 year but I expect Miles to do that too.

Even with BowlJackson banned, Chex Mix easily takes the cake as not only the shittiest Auburn poster but shittiest poster on tRant.
Phan isn't even in the conversation. Sure he rustles, but he's not at all a bad poster.

This is true. 20/22 of our starters (22/24 if you count the k and p) against Ohio State in the title game were Zook's.
