If LSU got kicked out of the SEC because Georgia AG?

Would this be a bigger melt than 01/09?

Yes, Lane Kiffin would almost certainly leave LSU if the university were actually expelled from the SEC.
While Kiffin publicly stated on Monday that LSU fully intends to comply with conference orders, his entire career trajectory and personal coaching philosophy prove that he would not stay at a program barred from competing at the highest level. If a hypothetical expulsion actually happened, Kiffin would likely exit Baton Rouge due to the following structural realities:

1. The Death of CFP Contentions

Kiffin famously left an 11-1, playoff-bound Ole Miss team specifically because LSU offered a superior national championship pedigree and elite resources. If LSU is removed from the SEC, they lose automatic access to the power-conference ecosystem and a realistic path to the College Football Playoff. Kiffin has no professional interest in coaching an isolated independent program with nothing to play for in December.

2. Immediate Roster and Recruiting Collapse

The primary reason LSU is in this standoff is Kiffin's hyper-aggressive use of the transfer portal to build an immediate powerhouse. If LSU were booted from the SEC, the roster would experience an instant mass exodus via the transfer portal. Top-tier recruits and current stars—like quarterback Sam Leavitt or tight end Trey'Dez Green—would not stay at a blacklisted school. Kiffin is an elite roster manager, but he cannot win without elite talent.

3. Escape Clauses in his $91 Million Contract

Superstar coaches like Kiffin have complex contracts with robust buyout protections. If the university's actions led to an unprecedented administrative disaster like conference expulsion, Kiffin's legal representation would easily argue a breach of "material capability" or trigger force majeure clauses, allowing him to walk away to another powerhouse without paying a massive buyout penalty.

4. He is the Ultimate Nomad

Kiffin's coaching history proves he does not hesitate to jump ship when a better or more stable opportunity arises, having moved from the Oakland Raiders, to Tennessee, USC, FAU, Ole Miss, and now LSU. He has never been a "program builder" tied to a school out of sheer sentimentality.

Fortunately for Tigers fans, sports law experts view the SEC's current threats of expulsion as a high-stakes legal bluff rather than a realistic outcome.

What would be funny is if LSU went shopping around for a different conference and were repeatedly told ok, but you can’t bring that crazy coach of yours with you.

It would be another example of conference corruption and hypocrisy, particularly when the Georgia AG, a University of Georgia graduate, is involved. The appearance of bias is hard to ignore.

So you try to gotcha a Bama fan with a post from another Bama fan. You nailed it bro. The ball guy may never recover.
As an aside, how do you think the OP’s wish cast melt would compare to how you respond when posters call you out for being racist?
