Georgia just doesn't have a big basketball culture.

If Georgia puts a decent product on the court, people will respond. Look at the Tubby Smith era.

Or the Harrick years.

And UGA already does it in spring sports and women’s basketball, gymnastics, etc

It’s literally men’s basketball that sucks. Georgia is competitive in everything else.

That’s the reason for the question. What is the incremental cost to improve basketball vs throwing another log on the football fire.

I'm not really sure but it's an excellent question.

While I could try and guess, to get the real answer ask Bruce Pearl and Will Wade. They definitely know.

This is where you have to be careful. Harrick cost us more than he was worth. Hiring the right coach is the first step, but hiring a sketchy coach can lead to giant steps in the wrong direction. When I see Auburn moving in what appears to be the right direction I think...Hmmm. Bruce Pearl. Are they really going in the right direction?

And tennis. And women's basketball. And softball. And Track & Field. Baseball is top 25. Great golf programs. Am I missing anything?

UGA swimming is really good. I mean you guys just added the world's biggest talent to your roster (South African swimmer Matt Sates). He is basically the next big thing since Michael Phelps and will likely win a ton of medals in the Paris and Los Angeles Olympics... UGA basically lost almost all of the top Atlanta area swimmers/recruits to Auburn and UVA but who cares when your assistant coaches recruit half of the South African swim team.

Does anyone think it’s on the same level as the big 3?

The "Terminus Legion" does.
