I don't have cancer (that I know of). And to be honest, I'm not working on a cure for cancer either. But yes, the point is, if as a "fan" you get obsessively depressed when "your" team loses, or, obsessively elated when "your" team wins, that's unhealthy. And to Bama fans (particularly those who didn't go to school there, and who maybe never even set foot on the campus), if you get in my face w/ bragging, I'm going to ask, 1. when did you graduate from the Univ. of Al.? if you actually did graduate from the U of Al, my 2d question will be, how many tackles did you get Mon. nite?
1)1989
2)1 (I had to tackle my LSU alum father-in-law to keep him from jumping off the second floor deck about mid-way through the third quarter)

Well... that's one interpretation. The other is that limits on number of recruits had to be instituted b/c Bear Bryant...recruited more players than he could play, to deprive other schools of players. Bear Bryant was the JR Ewing of college football, ruthless.
So I guess that means you're a Socialist right? You don't want players to be given free rein to choose the school they want to play for, regardless of their likelihood to get on the field, so that its "fair" to the other schools?

Nevermind Alabama already had Wilbur Jackson on the team.

Few will ever trully comprehend the power in college football he held in his prime.
How did I insinuate he didn't nor even remotely lead into that ? All I said was the Sugar rarely,if ever equaled the Orange nationally because NBC was able to pay more than ABC could pay the Sugar.
I'm well aware of Coach Bryant's influence (generally accepted by the bowl people, but not always) on bowls. My comment was only Sugar vs Orange.
Sorry 59 I wasnt trying to point fingers at you I was actually seeing if you agreed on Bryant's influence on the game or was aware of how much control he had over bowl selections. I agree fully on your Orange/Sugar assesment. If fact BAMA played for the title in the Orange several times rather than going to the Sugar.
