I'm good at that. It's never intentional though.

Supposedly McElroy had everything you could possibly want in an offense and he really wasn't that great. He was good enough. Would he really be good in a system without 2 elite RBs, a great OL who never gets called for holding, and a solid group of WRs?

You're basically banking on a kid that threw for less than 2000 yards in high school.

That was in his senior season, not a career total.

The OP started out as an Auburn fan. Now he can't make up his mind.

Isn't that forbidden ?

That's exactly it. A lot of QB's could be successful with the talent around them that he has/had. He's a good game manager. He's certalinly not elite, or even great.

Jevan Snead had a similar situation and he failed huge. Garcia has a lot of weapons on offense and he's terrible.

I understand GMac has a lot of talent around him but it isn't like it's the great OL ever. He had no time versus Ole Miss. He was sacked 5 times versus Texas.

With Saban's offensive plan GMAC isn't going to put up huge numbers. From what I've seen he can make the throws and make big plays when needed.

Name a QB in the SEC that is elite or great.

The only name you can possibly put up at this point for '10 is Mallett.

I'm not saying GMAC is great but you take him over a first year starter for sure (quite a few teams) and you should take him over failures like Garcia. It isn't like the QB play in the SEC is good.

**this just in***

GMac has NEVER LOST a game as a QB

If he does it again next year, would 40-0(including HS) make him a pretty good QB?

It would depend on what systems he'd fit into, what kinds of plays, sets, formations the team runs. A good example would be Ben Roethlisberger. He would be a terrible fit on the Saints (among other teams), he plays in Pittsburgh and has two Super Bowl rings. He is a good QB (not a great one) and he has succeeded where he plays. Likewise Drew Brees would not fit in some of the offenses around the league.

I'm glad Alabama fans worship this kid. I can't wait to see their reaction next season when they finally realize that what we've been telling them all this time is true.
