With what reason?

Are you going to add to the thread and post on topic, or ridicule for no reason?

You do realize bama added a bunch of "claimed" NC's right after bear died, don't you? That was in 1983. This is why you "claim" them....

And guess what, most of those claims are legit according to the NCAA site.

How is it not exactly the same?

2004: Auburn left out of BCSNC game as 1 of 3 undefeated teams
2010: TCU left out of BCSNC game as 1 of 3 undefeated teams

it's not the same because there is a crowned champion for 2010 and not one for 2004. If USC hadn't been forced to vacate the title, I'd have a different opinion.

There's also the argument of the fact that Auburn played in the SEC and TCU, in 2010, was in the Mountain West. Big difference in the quality of the opponents played. Tulane also finished undefeated in 1998, as well as Boise in 2006 and 2009

So when we find out who the bagman is in a couple of years can we crown TCU the champs?

So why not Oklahoma? They were actually in the game that year.

They "claimed" NC's from polls that were not in existence for the years they "claim" them. (even though there were polls around during those years)

And so now Auburn is going to do the exact same thing for 1910, 1913, and 1914?

Once you do that, I don't want to hear any more bitching from Auburn fans regarding our title claims.

Can I talk shite about your title claims?

LSU has a few they could claim, but we don't, because it's fricking ridiculous to.

You said that just one page ago. This is exactly what bama did. Added NC's from one day to the next. That is why bama's NC's are ridiculed. You have won a shite load of legit NC's. Why not just "claim" them? Again..........because you are in a pissing contest.

Alabama's NCs are ridiculed simply because of 1941. LSU and Auburn fans have just made up bullshite stories for the pre-poll era titles as well as some of the national championships awarded to us by AP and Coaches.

Auburn has no legitimate claim to 4 of the 7 national titles they are thinking about adding.

1925: Myth

Alabama claims they "share" this one with Dartmouth. Who gave the Tide the title? Houlgate and Helms. Houlgate started his system in 1927. Wait a second—this means 'Bama won their 1925 national championship using a formula that didn't even exist until 1927? The other title giver, Helms Athletic Foundation, wasn't founded until 1941. Hmm, another mind-blowing retroactive scam.

1926: Myth

Alabama claims they "share" this one with three other teams with equal or better records. Once again, it is the Helms Athletic Foundation (founded in 1941) that "gives" Alabama this title. But wait, this organization wasn't formed until over 15 years later, right?

1930: Myth

The Parke Davis poll says that 'Bama tied Notre Dame for the national championship this year, but this was the only poll to award it to 'Bama. Meanwhile, Notre Dame was named national champion in six different polls. I thought there could only truthfully be one champion, but I guess I was wrong. Interesting fact: Parke Davis is another retroactive system. He (an individual, not an organization) didn't create his system until 1933—three years after the fact.

1934: Myth

Alabama says they share this title with two other teams. The title givers this time are Dunkel, Williamson, and Football Thesaurus. Dunkel was a fan—check that, fan—who came up with his own polling system. Williamson was a geologist who also came up with his own system. Football Thesaurus didn't even appear until 1946. Once again, 12 years later. Another title that should never have been claimed.

1941: Myth

One day, when I have children, I'll read about this one to them before bed each night. Fact is, it might as well be written in a book full of colorful pictures and fairy tales. The AP ranked Alabama 20th in the nation this season with 14 teams having better records above them. Once again, it is the Football Thesaurus that retroactively awards the Tide this title. Alabama finished third in the SEC that year, while Mississippi State won the SEC title. It completely baffles me that 'Bama claims a national title in 1941.
