I doubt you can help me against the Sad Knight lol. He and the Tennessee fan seem destined to meet in the finals.

Well it happening incase you arent paying attention. which is why the SEC is so confused over this hire. What? A coach that instills discipline? He’s a poor man’s version of Saban. So yes this has people in a tizzy about what to expect from the Tigers.

I am not sold on Kelly doing well at LSU. He has a ton of advantages. Just a ton, honestly LSU would be my pick if I was told "win a national title in five years or you drop dead."

I'm not sure he can close the deal though. We will see.

Absolutely wild some of you think Brian Kelly, who has won big everywhere he’s been, is somehow going to fail at LSU of all places.

Serious compium

In 2010, a student videographer died at Notre Dame after Kelly called an outdoor practice on a windy day and the lift fell over. The same year, the campus was engulfed in scandal after a St. Mary’s College freshman reported that a Notre Dame football player sexually assaulted her. She died by suicide 10 days after filing a complaint with campus police. And then in 2016, the NCAA ordered Notre Dame to vacate its wins from the 2012 and 2013 seasons over an academic misconduct flap involving a student trainer who wrote papers for athletes and “provided impermissible academic assistance.”

quote:

“This year, five football players were arrested before the season began after police discovered marijuana and a handgun in their car,” the column continued. “This year, the football team couldn't even beat bad opponents en route to a losing campaign. This year, the NCAA smacked the school for academic fraud. This year, Notre Dame didn't look anything like Notre Dame. It looked like just about everyone else. And that means big trouble for everyone involved, especially the guy at the top.”

In 2016, a reporter asked Kelly how much culpability he should bear in the academic misconduct scandal that forced Notre Dame to vacate wins from 2012 and 2013.

“Zero,” he responded. “Absolutely none.”

Tell me more about his discipline...

Seems like most of that happened 10 or so years ago.

My mistake, I didn't realize he was less of a head coach then.

What has he won big? What BCS, power 5 conference title, or playoff game has he won?

It's the equivalent of saying Nick Saban is a 7 win coach because he won 7 games his first year at Alabama.

Isolated tragic incident from 2010

Vacated wins, Saban has some of those at Alabama

That’s all you’ve got, think about that.

Next you’re going to be talking about accents and dance moves. That this is all you have to come at Kelly with just reinforces what a good coach he is.

Won 2 national titles at grand valley state

Took over a moribund Central Michigan program and won the Mac within 3 years

In 3 years at Cincinnati he won 34 games, 2 Big East titles, went to back to back BCS bowls, and finished the 2009 season 12-0 and ranked 4th when he went to Notre Dame.

Took over Notre Dame, which had languished for almost 15 years under Bob Davie, Ty Willingham, and Charlie Weiss. Within 3 years had them playing for the National Title. Went to the playoffs twice and had them in the mix again this last year. 54-9 the last 5 years. This is 21st century Notre Dame, not 1973 Notre Dame.

To claim that’s anything but wildly successful is intellectually dishonest at best, stupidity at worst.

Saban followed it up with the greatest run in history. Kelly followed it up getting bitched slapped in every big game.
