No JFF is perfect timing. It gave us the momentum we needed to get the recruits we need to compete long-term.
We were trying to reforge our brand and he did the job. That is bigger than shitty Aggie posts (me included) on a board made of electricity.

Win the conference or at least the west for a few years. Compete for the sec championship a few years. The truth is y'all have not down anything yet You lost 2 home games your first year in the sec. You did beat bama but you still did not compete for the title. Maybe this year? But so far you lost your first sec game. So that's 3 sec losses out of about 8 games. Not so super.

A&M is the first SEC expansion team to have a winning in-conference record in the first year of play.

True but you haven't won anything. Were you 3rd or 4th in the west last year ? I mean truthfully once you compete regularly I am sure you will be accepted. But that hasn't happens yet

I think they are now. Best move the Aggies have ever made and for the first time ever Texas is sucking hind tit to the Aggies and they are the second rate team in Texas.

Well sure, but we are working on it with new facilities and competitive recruiting classes.
Would you prefer we suck and be a drain on the SEC and your schedule?

If SEC "equals" means thought of on an equal level, there are like 4-5 tiers of SEC schools. The way I see it is that you ARE an SEC school. You are in the conference. But, in terms of where y'all fall into the whole big picture? This is what i got...
Historically (as in, each team's total wins / championships)
1st - Bama, LSU, Florida
2nd - UGA, Auburn, UT
3rd - Arky, A&M, S.Car,
4th - Ole Miss, Miss State, Mizzou?
5th - Kentucky, Vandy
CURRENTLY, I'd swap S.car and A&M to 2nd bracket, and move UT to 3rd. Also, I really don't know enough about Mizzou to classify them, but I assumed they weren't as bad as Kentucky or Vandy idk.
SO, if you ask me? A&M needs to do some work to get on that 2nd level permanently.

These dorks just can't comprehend something so simple.

It's the big 6
Then the teams that have made it to Atlanta but lost.
Then the rest. Until they earn it, they are bottom tier.

I have no idea if someone said the same thing I did? didn't read up on the thread.
i think a lot of the A&M fans are so shocked they're 1. a part of the best conference now, 2. actually kicking arse in it... that 3. they are trying to find a fan identity amongst us.
I think it's also a good time to help that perception, because we all know they will probably slide right back onto that 3rd level when Manziel leaves. No disrespect intended to their other QB's.

They have the potential to really succeed long term, but who doesn't have potential? Moral victories are cool and all that, but the sooner they figure out that the ONLY thing that matters pre-December is getting to Atlanta, then they'll understand.

Great post. That's what I was trying to explain earlier to no avail.

And let's not forget the historical lows of Auburn and Arkansas coinciding with this. Petrino would have given that Aggie defense trouble last year as the pass seemed to be their biggest weakness. Auburn went from national championship level to doormat at just the right time.
It couldn't have gone much more perfectly from a timing standpoint for the Aggies coming into the league. Really is remarkable.
