Meyer could have stayed at Utah. Saban could have stayed at Michigan State. At a certain point you realize these guys have the biggest egos out there, tons of money, and the easy road is not what they seek.

That was pre NIL / Transfer Portal / modern college football. It's a very different environment today than it was even just 5 years ago.

Issue with that - if your coach in waiting makes the semi-finals (or better) you don't get a transfer portal.

You definitely do. It just comes with a wink and a nudge.

The sport is different. Coaches aren't.

If I'm a player with options, why would I choose Florida based on a promise a coach I like will be hired (who could back out at any time) v. Taking a sure option. If I have two choices, I'm taking the sure choice every time.

Sure you'll get some kids, but not the ones with multiple legit options

It’s really sad your last sentence was 2 other sec teams and not your own. Really. Sad.

The money is legit either way and that's 99% of what matters.

Money, ability to start, and ability to make the NFL

If money is the same, you take the school where you know for sure who the coach will be and how you fit the scheme.

That's what I'm saying.

Hey here's $4M in NIL today and let's just say more good news tomorrow.

Huh?

I'm saying there'll be some exciting coaching news in the next few days if you catch my drift.

???

We hired Lane Kiffin you dumbass

yep...and lane is working on his 4th 10 win season in past 5 years..and LSU has 1 in the past 20. I'd say he's doing pretty good So if you saying....would I as an ole miss fan rather have Kiffen and 10 win season or the promise of 1 10 win season and win the champion that one season then go back to 7-5...I'lll take what we got with Kiffen. That LSU championship is a fluke, an anomaly....all the stars line up for that magical season with Joe Burrow. Then back to nobodies. When you dont back it up year and year like Bama and Georgia it's luck.

Case in point. Enjoy your sec west co-champions banner.

Case in point....brag about that one amazing season you had in 2019 with Joe Burrow. But still have dumpster fire of a program who just fired their coach mid season and paid him 53 million dollars.

The way I see it....you guys wanting to hire our coach tells me you'd rather be in our shoes...just saying.
