If Missouri's players signed with Alabama, LSU, USC or Texas they would be 4 and 5 stars.

I think that little fact is lost on people like CockRocket

Oh you mean PEST?
Only a super fool would consider that equal to rape/suicide trolling.

Did CockRocket ever make light of the Missouri rape situation? I thought scrooster was on trial here

But don't say you don't say anything insulting. Mizzou fans' most used comeback is to put down the South in some fashion whether it be regards to being poor, uneducated, racist, etc. It's ignorant both ways.

to be completely fair, SC is the trailer park capital of the USA and education rates are the worst in the deep south...it's really not "ignorant" pointing that out. If you had said "douchebags", "assholes", or "frickin yankee scum", that would be more accurate.
People in the north are every bit as racist in the south, but yunz can thank Wallace for giving racism a sweet southern drawl in the minds of most people.

And Missouri is the meth capital of the USA. I'd rather have trailer parks and hospitable simpletons.

we're really just amateur chemists that like to disassemble electronics and don't see a need for all 32 teeth. To call us "methheads" doesn't take in the whole essence of who we are.

On the flip side of the coin, why can't other SEC programs field a winning team with incredible recruiting classes. Just doesn't make sense.
Been argued to death but simply put recruits going to some schools get a bump due to the fact it is believed the staff at that school only take top athletes. Recruiting rankings are very subjective, get into the top 20 and coach them from there. While talent wise there can be a difference between the 1st and 15th classes they are close enough that the best coached team will win.

Oh, and SC fans as well as the rest of the rant don't constantly stereotype Missouri as a trashy meth haven (which is a completely false and incredibly uneducated stereotype)?
We respond to trolling with trolling. The entire board does it.
Quit acting like a prima donna about this, as if you're somehow above trolling. If that was the case, you wouldn't have spent most of your evening attempting to troll and in turned being spanked within this thread.
You failed, sir.

Gary Pinkel. Not to hijack your post, but how is he still there? Its amazing to me why he wasnt a top candidate at Texas.

He's only a year younger than Saban. Too damn old to start somewhere else. Plus Texas needed someone like Mack who could work the room. Gary can do a lot of things, but shake hands and kiss babies isn't one of them. Plus, as someone else said, his whole family is here.

Pinkel is one of those rare coaches that truly appreciates his tenure at the university that gave him his big break. He had some bad years in the beginning and Mizzou was patient enough to allow him time to develop a program.
Pinkel's turned down offers at more elite programs. He has stated that he had at least three opportunities to leave Mizzou, but he believes in Mizzou's program and truly wants to get us to a national championship.
Don't forget that in 1991 he was an assistant coach at Washington when they won a national championship under Don James, his coaching mentor. Pinkel actually has national championship experience and he has stated that he would like to see Mizzou win a championship before he retires.
We're lucky to have him, IMO.

Missouri is definitely doing more with less to some extent but your coaching staff is also finding underrated players. However, I think there is also a factor that favors yours and similar programs: players who are not highly recruited tend top play through their Senior years which means you probably average playing more mature, bigger and stronger players though they might not be quite as athletic as most of the top ranked players. Granted this is purely conjecture on my part but it is logical. Meanwhile teams like Georgia lose a lot of players early to the NFL draft and some of them never contribute at a high due to what I call the prima donna syndrome. As such though our recruiting rankings are consistently better than Missouri, the quality of UGA teams that actually see the field are probably not much if any better than Missouri. We also seem to have an ongoing probably with injuries which to a large extent explains our loss in Athens last season.

Understatement of the year.
Recently, Pinkel has let it known that he wants to stay in Missouri, which is awesome.
Even 8-10 years ago, I cant believe big time programs werent offering him their program. I lived in St. Louis and knew after the 3rd season, he was an outstanding coach. He has had Missouri one game away from playing for it all twice! Thats Missouri we're talking about with those recruiting classes.Only three times he was offered a better program?
He shouldve gotten 3 offers in one year a few times.
So to answer your original question OP?
Gary Pinkel is the answer.

Great post, dude! I completely agree with your logic.
Refreshing to see a non-Mizzou fan speak honestly and favorably about the Mizzou program's way of doing things...
