The kid is a good player, but most can see he is a product of media hype and a good system that allows him to take risk. All the best ever talk is equally as annoying a s the overrated talk. Ron brooks played his spot when he was suspended and was equally as impressive in that same role vs AU last year, he even had a pick six.

He is pretty much the defensive Tebow, without the high character. Great player who the media over hypes causing him to not be liked. Everyone can pretty much see he doesn't have a role at the next level and would not be nearly as effective if he played a different role in a different scheme.

So I should respond by linking Tyrann's accomplishments and accolades, seriously? Would it make any difference whatsoever?

If it makes you feel better. I simply replied to your statement that nobody but Bama fans are calling him overrated.

BhamDore pretty much nailed it.

Let's assume you're correct. It still doesn't address my original question. Why is he, almost universally, strictly an UA fixation?

he's a product of his production on the field and he will hold the NCAA record for FFs after 3 years of playing.

TM7 is the first player to ever play nickelback? I learn something new around here everyday.

that was 1 game, not 2 years. Brooks is not nearly as physical as TM

maybe, tebow had some pretty good production in college though

Sooooooo, is that why NFL.com has him ranked as the #2 corner in next year's draft?

Cornerbacks
1. *David Amerson, North Carolina State, 6-3/194
2. *Tyrann Mathieu, LSU, 5-9/175
3. Johnthan Banks, Mississippi State, 6-2/185
4. Johnny Adams, Michigan State, 5-11/175
5. Jordan Poyer, Oregon State, 6-0/190

Okay you found one, so if I did a search and posted the 99 guys on his bandwagon from last year and this, would it make any difference whatsoever.

Geez. Well, I gave it a shot anyway.

If you think of all the stereotypical bad things about Vandy and Bama and you put them together in one smarmy, ignorant, arrogant cocktail, you'd get BhamDore.

I think I have seen one legitimate non-troll post from BD since I've been on here.

Look Tm7 has great instincts and is probably one of the best tackling DBs we've seen. Nobody is trying to take those things from him. He has limitations and the scheme Chavis runs masks those weaknesses.

LSU and Bama fans will always throw jabs about each others players. LSU fans swore Julio Jones was garbage even though he avg over 100 yds pg vs them in the 3 yrs he was at Bama. He even had 2 game winning catches in the series, 08 and 09 . All we heard is he'll be a good TE in the NFL then a ran a 4.3.

We heard about fat slow LBers. Hightower ran 4.6 and LSU small LBers run much slower.

It goes both ways.

There is a very little chance Tm7 goes is the #2 CB off the board. Like I said the combine exposes a lot of players. Any mock before the combine will be drasticallly wrong.

No team uses that high a draft pick on a nickle back that could never play on the outside.

NFL draft for position players is about speed to size ratio and Tm7 lacks in both dept. His production will get him a 2nd rd grade. He could even sneak into the 1st, it only takes one team to fall in love. Tebow is a good example of this.

The amount of fappage to one player is also unmatched.

UF or AU didn't fap as much to Tebow or Cam. Both of those guys were Heisman and National Championship winning QBs.

Terrell Suggs ran a 4.84 at the combine. Absolutely crushed him. Some people play fast. Their numbers might be askew, but they still go number 10 overall. The obsession with 40 times is insane here. Message board mentality. Easy to digest information to make crazy generalizations from.

I'm waiting for one of these idiot bama fans to post the pictures of TM "getting beat in coverage" in the NC game. You know the pics where TM7 is righ on the WRs hip as he catches the ball...

Personally, I prefer the 3Q screen pass to Kenny Bell where Hanks blocks Mathieu and takes him to his knees and completely out of the play, helping spring Bell for a long gain.

The NFL likes playmakers. He won't run under a 4.5 but he'll have enough tape out there to sway a GM or owner. He's a top 2 round talent.
