He’s an extra Tackle who can go out in routes and has great hands. UGA offense will need to change, guys a unicorn.

They certainly don't make many like him, he could help anyone in the NFL. Look at Mercedes Lewis, a similar guy, just finished his 16th season.

He is a unicorn.
But we have the TE depth to roll on without him.

It is the same question as to how UGA replaces Jordan Davis after 2021.
Or how UGA replaces George Pickens after the spring ACL before the 2021 season.

While Darnell is a beast...

UGA does have Bowers still on the roster for next year. Oscar Delp is still there. And they add 4-stars Pearce Spurlin (6-6, 240) and Lawson Luckie (6-3, 225) who are TE's in the top 150 of 2023 recruit rankings.

UGA will be okay at the TE position.

Short answer: they don't. They will continue to do great things with TEs but you won't see the same scheme moving forward. What a fun year to see 0 and 19 together.

there are TEs and then there are 6'8" mobile left tackle TEs with speed and hands...what Washington did for this team was HUGE and irreplaceable

so the answer is they can't replace Big 0, they have to adapt and modify.

and as everyone knows, the TE room at UGA is DEEP

The truth is that Washington only blocked 1 defender per play.

He was great at it.
But so was Fitzpatrick

Washington's value is in short yardage (down blocks) and as a receiver.

We have guys who can replicate the receiving numbers. The question is if we can collapse a side on short yardage when we want to bounce outside. There are multiple ways to get those 2 yards. We will be fine.
