It's good money but the problem a lot of guys have talked about is that you're expected to do all the things guys making a lot more money do - e.g. take all the vets out to eat and so on, travel, lodging, attending various events. A lot of things outside the game that are designed around guys who are making a metric ton more than the guys on the practice squad make.

It's enough to do more than ok while you're doing it but you don't come away with as much when all is said and done than you might expect even if you're fairly good at saving.

Still, it's a better early start than a lot of folks with professional degrees get but if Bennett has any sense at all he will be back in college in a few years as a grad assistant for someone and starting out his coaching career.
