And don't say "hand cuffs".
seriously, no one has been able to stop him. Is there anyway to coral him or keep him bottled up. I think if you can get enough presure with your front four and maybe a weakside blitz or off the corners could work. Provided you have the athletes to play man.
How do you stop him? Anyone have a solution? No one has been able to do it, And i am not sure anyone can

Play Fairely and spear his arse when he's relaxed and the play is over. If that doesn't work dive at his knees.

Keep your offense on the field as long as possible.

seriously though, USCe was a field goal away from winning.
And guess what, they play again, in atlanta this time.

i think you just have to take away his run by plugging the middle and hope you tackle well on the outside and play man mostly
pretty much mostly man and crowd the line of scrimmage and sometimes drop back in coverage and hope i guessed the right times to drop coverage.
and hope i got lucky

I think Bama will have the best chance because they run the 3-4 pretty exclusively. UGA was doing a pretty good job of keeping him contained when they were in a 3-4 early in the game Saturday. Once they switched to a 4-3 full time he was able to have his way with them.

The solution is a competent offense. "stopping" Newton and "beating" Newton are 2 different things. It seems we had the only offense in the world not capable of putting up 30 on Auburn's horrible defense. With all their rushing yards, we still held them within enough points to beat them with a decent offense.

USCe and Ashlon Jeffries is scary...
USCe and Auburn both have TURRIBLE secondaries..
It'll be a shootout til a turnover changes the game.

If our OL keeps winning the battle at the line you really can't. Someone is just going to have to start beating our OL at the point of attack.

Your punter and punt coverage should get the credit for keeping LSU in the game IMO.
