It's the same type of loss many teams experience even though literally not a single team has ever experienced it before?

no team has ever had 12-14 guys leave after a season?

Why aren't you grinding anymore, heartbroTiger?
Moved onto bigger and much better things?

Right, and your explanation was laughable. Any rational LSU fan would admit that losing 10+ NFL caliber underclassmen is not meaningless. If you think it is, then lol at you sir.
I consider myself pretty rational, and I agree with my fellow LSU fans that while losing 10 juniors, a soph Punter, and Mathieu is a tall order to fix, you have to look at what all we return, and the number of Seniors that were left after 2011. We had very few seniors.
DLine is a concern, but Freak, Ego, Rasco, and Hunter are more than capable. For depth and rotation we will rely on young, and sometimes inexperienced FR and Soph.
However, I doubt it's nothing Dline U can't overcome.
Now I say wait till we survive fall camp without suspending half the team before you throw out numbers like 4-4 in the SEC.

moved on to a more fitting name, just waiting for the admins to officially change it.

All of that is fair. But you're also an LSU homer, and I'm not. Surely you can see how a rational person could look at how shitty LSU played this year, how much they're losing, who's going to be running the offense, and the brutal schedule they play, and decide they might go 4-4?
From the way the LSU fans are reacting in here, you'd think I predicted 0-8. It's a reasonable prediction. If you can't see that, you're a homer.

LSU loses 8 or 9 starters, depending on how you count:
-3 on offense: Lonergan, Dworaczyk, Jacobs (but LSU's base set features 3 WRs and a FB these days, so Jacobs wasn't part of the starting 11).
-6 on defense: Mingo, Montgomery, Logan, Minter, Simon, Reid
Alabama loses 10 starters:
-5 on offense: Warmack, Jones, Fluker, Lacy, Williams
-5 on defense: Williams, Square, Johnson, Milliner, Lester
Looks like LSU and Alabama's losses on defense are comparable (5 lost starters vs. 6 lost starters). However, Alabama's losses on offense are bigger than LSU's.
Conclusion: Alabama will drop off farther than LSU.

You seem to forget you said rational fan. I gave you a rational statement. If it came off as homer so be it. It was as rational as you will get online here. We played 15 freshmen and dealt with a slew of injuries in 2012. Yet we were two fatal minutes from winning the west.
Again you said rational, and I've decided that in the last 6 months rationality is a thing of the past on this board. You starting this thread and the current state of the SEC rant boards ATM is more proof than you can handle.

Dee Milliner was hurt in a game and so was Jessie Williams so using the LSU method, Brandon Ivory and John Fulton and Geno Smith all count as returning starters. I'm also going to count Yeldon as long as we're making shite up.

Bro, you are probably my favorite Alabama poster. I'm a big fan of your work.

I have us missing a bowl this year. We lost way too much and we don't really recruit to well so we can't really reload either. Look for us to come back in 2014 though.

I think Steen is coming back for Bama.

Huge loss. Bama's replacements are pedestrian. The best hope is Geno Smith. Belue and Fulton won't cut it.

Oops. I meant Fluker, not Steen. Thanks.

Since it's the 09 offseason all over can we get Wallace or Moncrief for Heisman bumper stickers?

here are the losses
two running backs who were not at the top of the depth chart
one kicker who was in trouble for a pot test
montgomery(DE), mingo(DE), minter (LB), - played three years at LSU
bennie logan(DT) - played two years (redshirt one)
eric reid (S) and tharold simon(CB) - played two years (plus a couple games in 2010)
faulk and the honey badger didn't play this year obviously and were missed but replaced
If LSU succeeds or fails in 2013 it won't be because they don't have a typical amount of experience on their team - it will be because the players in leadership positions did not work hard enough.
Every college team has questions and holes to fill every year. There are players with experience and talent on LSU who should be up to the task. If they are not then too bad for us but it is not because they aren't capable of playing at the highest level.
