No the frick it's not. You guys are ridiculous. Again, they were 2 plays away from going 4-4 this year and lost more juniors to the draft than any team ever has. It is completly reasonable to think LSU will go 4-4 with Ole Miss, A&M, Arky, and Auburn all trending upward next year.

I doubt there's going to be an undefeated SEC team next year.

LSU was also a play away from the SECCG in which case the bowl scenario completely changes

but neither happened so your point is moot.

Right, and if they were going to be an improved team next year, I would take that in to consideration. But they're not; they are going to be worse, which is why I am pointing out how close they were to going 4-4 this year. The margin was that thin, and the defense will be a shell of its former self next year. Look at who is leaving and pretend you're not an LSU homer for a second.

That's true

Tho LSU was also 2 plays from being 8-0 in SEC play and returns more starters than both Bama and A&M next year (I think)

The biggest hurdle for LSU next year is the schedule - @ Bama, @ UGA, vs Florida, vs A&M

Bama just has @ A&M, vs LSU

A&M just has @ LSU, vs Bama

No one goes undefeated next year in the West next year and like it ends in a ti with 2 or possibly 3 teams at the top.

We were also 2 plays away from beating Bama and playing for the national championship. So GFY.

A&M will be more or less the same. Arkansas will be only slightly better. Auburn will not be better at all.

The only team you listed that is "trending upward" is Ole Miss.

I guess I'll keep repeating myself. That would be relevant if LSU looked like they had even a remote possibility of being as good or better than they were last year. But they do not; they're losing more juniors than any team in college football history. Are you people seriously naive enough to think that will have no effect?

Alabama loses 7 offensive starters from the beginning of the season, but a projected chart has late starters and guys with huge amounts of PT moving into positions and those are Fowler at TE and well, Yeldon. And losing 3 starters on D with Pagan and Ivory moving on the D line.

In 2011 we lost 15 starters. This year we lose 14. We return more starters than Bama and A&M.

The point you are obviously missing is that you assume we lost a lot of juniors IN ADDITION to the normal number of seniors. This is not the case. LSU didn't have many seniors on the team this year.

LSU experienced a NORMAL amount of attrition this year. Your assumptions are wrong.

Other than the Bama game there was no game where I looked at the team LSU fielded this year and felt like their mentality was where it should have been (like it was in 2011)

in 2010 LSU lost several outstanding starters (PP, Nevis, Ridley, Sheppard) and improved significantly the next year.

The 2012 season was mostly a clusterfrick with the early season losses of TM and Faulk. I think it all comes down to off season hard work and establishing new leaders on the team for 2013 like emerged in 2011

If you want to count that way, LSU has the same situation. LSU played more freshmen than any team in the nation last year. We have tons of young guys who will be very much improved from their first year to their second.

Why people think LSU has not recruited well is beyond me. They just look at the names we are losing.

You have to look at the names who are replacing them.

LSU has 3 starters back at LB.

Kwon
Barrow
Tahj Jones

Mills, Collins, Loston at DB and Martin and Euguene all played a ton.

Offense and DL is LSUs only question.
