I don't think Auburn has been that bad in the Doug Barfield era. It's like Georgia back when Ray Goff was sucking gas.

I recall LSU having 7 losing seasons in a 10 year span...
That's something it took UF 56 years to achieve
Well, it didn't take us 85 years to win a conference championship pal.

Oh look, another LSU fan who started watching football in 2000. I'm SHOCKED.

Bama won a title in '92.
We had Stallings' dyslexic protege as coach and went 2-9.

LSU is on their way there now.

ETA: That's the year DiNardo shut us out, I'm pretty sure.

Stallings was a great coach and would be a legend if not for Spurrier having his number.

'99 was a good ride for Dubose.
It was fool's gold but he sure did spank Spurrier in the SECCG that year. Gators totally fell apart late that year.

Yup. 27-0. Bama Shaun Alexander'd us the year before 26-0.
Fran paid us back when he 31-0'd Saban in 2002.
We are loooong overdue to pay y'all back.
Probably never get payback for 21-0. We still haven't paid Ole Miss back for their 21-0 in the 1960 Sugar Bowl but payback has come in various other forms not the least of which will be their comeuppance from the NCAA tomorrow.

Just swapping favors, Shaun Alexander came along and ran for 600 yards and 9 TDs and you shut us out.

quote:The last 16 or 18 months of Dubose's tenure were interesting. The rumors about his affair started coming out before the '99 season started, and he rattled off a damn good season. It was almost as if he'd thrown the gauntlet down, daring the UA administration to remove him. The problem is that he created really high expectations for himself in 2000 and then PROMPTLY fell flat on his face against UCLA.
'99 was a good ride for Dubose.
I think the loss to UCF is what made the boosters and admins "care" about the whole affair thing.

That is also my recollection of the '96 game.
