This isn't the burn you think it is. Wouldn't that mean that the committee felt that Alabama's loss was to a good team? If the playoff committee thought A&M sucks, then I guarantee Alabama would not be sitting at #2. A&M's spot in the rankings is fine considering they are a 2-loss team. If they beat Auburn this weekend, they will move up at least one spot guaranteed. I have no idea where you get the idea that the win against Alabama is irrelevant based on the rankings. It makes no sense.

And it was. Alabama lost to Alabama. They beat themselves in the committee's eyes. That's why they only fell a single spot in the rankings instead of tumbling like they should have vs a normal unranked team.
