and how in the frick did he not win the Heisman?

I don't mean "end up at Tennessee" in a negative way. How did he come to choose Tennessee?

To do his own thing, and not got to Ole Miss like everyone expected.

Media bias for Charles Woodson.

Bama didn't want him.

Probably, but it's not like Woodson wasn't great in the NFL too, Manning has just proven to have been better, at least in terms of legacy, considering they play different positions.

Yeah, I don't think Peyton was going to want to play in Stallings run-based offense. I don't think he really ever looked at Alabama. I think he was mostly interested in Tennessee, Texas A&M, LSU, and Ole Miss.

Wrong offense at bama, there is no way they could have had him.

Alabama also signed Freddie Kitchens that same year. Kitchens was rated at high as Manning coming out of high school. Of course, hindsight is always 20/20.

Archie would have had a heart attack if he chose LSU

Ole Miss was on probation. Or he would have gone there.

Never would have gone to LSU.

Meh. You got the point. It wasn't like Jason White or Troy Smith winning the Heisman and never being heard from again.

Cooper Manning went to Ole Miss, but found out he couldn't play football. So Peyton couldn't throw to him, and we were going on probation.
