HDN loses a game hes not supposed to, and wins a game hes not supposed to every year. I thought it as common knowledge?

They went from sucky coach who could recruit, to sucky coach who can't recruit.

Hootie can recruit when he wants to. Many times he overly recruits certain positions and leaves others lacking.

This is the main problem, IMHO:
Hootie's #1 problem is his ego. He will NOT delegate to other coaches in areas where they are stronger and he will NOT take sincere advice from others in areas where they are more competent.

Two part question.

How did we fall?
We lost a ton of talent last year.

So fast?

I started out this offseason believing Ole Miss was a lock for the bottom of the west... pretty soon I was reading too many kool aid posts from Ole Miss fans and looked at how easy the schedule was... and I talked myself into thinking they could sneak up for the #4 spot if aub/lsu/arky slipped (and they beat MSU)

The clear majority of Ole Miss fans on this board preseason were expecting a 5-8 win season IMO... losing to Jack state and Vandy were not seriously considered problems

Losing to either would not have been a problem. Losing to both is an issue. Especially since we should have won both games fairly easily.

I think it was a pretty big problem when you open the year dropping a game to jack state

They don't look like a well coached team right now. They lost alot of senior leadership and that is hard to replace.
