Wrong. Ole Miss played a hell of a game against Bama. They converted when it counted and made the big plays needed to beat Bama. Bama played a hell of a game but Ole Miss defense stepped up when it counted. Couldn't be more wrong saying Bama beat themselves in that game.

Yes, just keep thinking that LSU hasn't improved at all since those games. It will make pushing bama around that much more enjoyable.

3 pages and the second response was the only one. Thanks Chex.

Anyone care to elaborate on how the Miss defense kept Cooper's numbers down or contribute anything else football related to the post.

I believe they used the bracket approach. This allowed us to run really well in the 1st half and make a few big plays to other guys (OJ Howard had a long catch down the seam), but then our center got injured and Ole Miss was able to bracket Cooper AND control the run game. At that point we were in trouble.

Why people are alibiing for Auburn the way they lost and blasting Bama for the way they lost is quite odd.
Auburn lost to the #1 team but they also beat the #11 team, destroyed the #17 team that just beat OM, and even blew out an Arkansas team Bama barely squeezed by. So they can tell that that one game with all its mistakes might not be telling of how good Auburn really is.

Odd is Bama being ranked higher than OM because they were good a few years ago. They haven't done anything to prove they are worthy to be in the top 3 this year.

No they didn't. Amari Cooper had 9 catches for 91 yards.

Stats don't tell the whole story, tho. Cooper was not a huge factor in the game.

So I guess that makes Texas A&M way better than Auburn based on that whole squeezing by 4 loss South Carolina thing, right?

Auburn's Strength of Schedule must be way way way better than Alabama's

Sagarin : AU 2, Bama 3
ESPN FPI : AU 5, Bama 2

The same way they are better than UGA too.

It is better. The rankings are affected by who the teams they beat have lost to. So it makes teams like A&M look a lot better than they are. Plus Bama has played 1 more game.

much like the lsu ole miss game. two very even teams that could have won the game but ole miss was at home and made the plays to ultimately win the game. just in case you havent noticed every single team in the west is very legit. with the exclusion of A&M. I think they quit.

This man get it....

Playing the #7 and #22 is alot easier than playing the #1, #11, and #17 teams. I don't care what some formula says.

I'm using math. Playing 3 teams ranked higher than your best win is harder. Kind of like losing to the number 7 team doesn't equate to being 3.

If Kansas State makes even one of those fg's it would have ended in a tie. They missed 3 overall and had a WR drop a td right into the hands of a defender. Auburn was extemely lucky to win that game and you know it.

How about LSU wasn't that bad to begin with, Auburn just beat the living snort out of them?

And MSU beat the living snot out of LSU and Auburn so I guess they are on a different level than both.

It's part of the game and you know it. Just like Auburn dropping passes. They make one for a TD and Auburn still wins even if they make all 3.

Auburn made no mistakes in that game either
