No. FSU's facilities are nowhere near as nice as Bama's. Jimbo wanted to build the Bama of the ACC but the $$$ wasn't there.

Admin would not approve money for assistants and upgrades he wanted

I think the fact that Jimbo’s name being tossed around so much after every season for a new coaching job and the fact he would never just come right out and say He was all FSU in the beginning had a lot to do with that

There's a lot of credence to that statement. Once Winston left, well...you see what they were the last couple of years after.

I went into detail, that was it in a capsule.
1. Crazy Wife
2. Sick son
3. Idiot AD who left for NCAA office in Indy. They spent like drunk sailors on womens programs and Jimbo was rightly pissed. FWIW, Jimbo had already had his agent feelers out in the Spring BEFORE the Bama game. Yeahhh, really focused and prepared for Bama. NOT

Do not forget LSU was trying to hire Jimbo away from FSU. Then aTm hired him next year with a huge contract. Possibility aTm was after Jimbo for a while and the rest of us did not know about it. During all that time Fisher just folded and did not care for FSU.

Back door channel with aTm in the Spring before the Bama game. The rest is fact, further, Charlie Strong and Taggert were the Ghost(AD) top 2 choices. Strong a bomb at Texas and hire to FSU. Good Lort!

What many people don't know about FSU is that their cheap with their athletics. Most schools hop on a plane to see a recruit, FSU makes you drive. I've known many assistant coaches that got tired fast at their unwillingness to support recruiting better.

What really happened?

1. When DC Jeremy Pruitt left to take the Georgia DC job in 2014, Fisher promoted LB coach Charles Kelly to DC. He was a big step down and the defense progressively got worse.

2. The OL coach Rick Trickett got old and his recruiting fell off and the OL started to suck.

Notice Jimbo didn't bring either of them with him to A&M...

These fall on the AD and where the money went. Jimbo wanted money to hire new assistants, AD shut him down, spent it on the womenz

Jimbo didn’t have discipline on the teams. His wife started screwing his players. The administration turned out to be cheap as hell. I’m sure he just wanted to get the hell out of dodge and put that chapter behind him.

The case can be made that it actually started with the 2014. Season, although the 13-1 record masks that to a degree. 2013 FSU absolutely obliterated every team they played but AU that year. Just to 2014 and they won a lot of close games against inferior competition.

2012& 2013 teamshad 11 players drafted each and 2014 had 7. Significant coaching turnover following 2012 & 2013 seasons, with significant downgrades at OC and DC in 2014.

Add to this the constant drama surrounding James Winston and you can see where the slide began.
