To really pinpoint medical research I one can vouch for childhood cancer. UAB is a leader in that.

Going forward, whenever I drop the hammer of reality on the TideFans about the modern era we are in, and they immediately go to the all time history card....then I reserve the right to remind them that the NCAA officially recognized zero championship by any men's program they have ever had in their schools " History" ever...zero.

LSU owns Bama this decade, who gives a shite about the past, you probably just now wearing big boy pants

Wtf? This decade =/= the past??? This is the worst argument made on sports message boards. Picking the past 10 yrs is just as arbitrary as picking X number of years that makes Bama look better.

Huntsville, AL is the largest of any NASA facility, and it is where virtually all the research takes place. It's also the leading training center, where rocketry and propulsion are developed, and many of the rockets are engineered and built.

I already listed the reasons. Everything I said was true. Birmingham has more billion-dollar companies and is a leader in much more scientific and medical research.

Sorry man, to say that Birmingham is more important than New Orleans is wrong, regardless of whatever half-assed internet facts you Google and post.

If we're talking about music, sure, New Orleans is better.

But science, business, and medicine? Things that matter a lot more? NOLA isn't even close to B'ham.

Much of the International Space Station was designed and built there. I visited the plant where they were building it back in '98 and actually got to walk through some of it.

Werner Von Braun, the guy who got us into space and to the moon, lived and designed his rockets in Huntsville.

Birmingham is nothing to write home about, but NO is a constantly flooded, crime riddled, piece of trash now. Nobody should ever be allowed to build a city below sea level unless they are all mentally retarded. Oh wait....

The day that the Mississippi flows through Birmingham, I will agree with you.
