How could a rational human being think 3 wins over teams with a winning record is better than 8

Exactly. It depends on if the human voters take into account the one loss of each team or the total wins.

We already know the computers think more highly of Oklahoma State

The BCS was designed to always ensure a #1 vs #2 matchup and hopefully eliminate a #4 from jumping to #1 and winning a NC. You cannot measure how deserving a team is... can't do it. But, you can watch teams play and have a pretty sound idea of who the best team available is... and that is Alabama.

It is about total body of work, it is up to each voter to determine what they value more (losses compared to wins, margin of victory, winning conference, etc)

Our l loss is way better than anyone elses and we beat everyone by at least 16.

Oh so now its just watching and a "gut feeling" of who is better? Well then I think you being a Bama fan wouldn't be a good one to judge that because you would have a completely biased opinion

As of now Oklahoma State is the only team that should be in the conversation if they beat Oklahoma convincingly. They would then have 4 top 25 wins which is the same as Alabama. A conference championship will make a difference in the voter's eyes. If OSU loses, then Bama has the best resume.

You're right we don't deserve anything. You guys beat us. However, if the game is to pit the two best teams in the country against one another I cannot be convinced that Alabama is not the other team.

And your opponents are for the most part garbage. So OSU's wins look better than Bama's.

But it is not only losses that one can compare, it is also wins. In that respect Bama and OSU will be equal if OSU defeats Oklahoma. If not Bama will have the best resume.

The objective portion of the BCS favors OSU. They'll be a conference champ who has played a more difficult schedule and has yet to lose to LSU. The SEC is terrible, and Bama hasn't done much OOC.

Absolutely... but I've also watched the other schools play. Who is better than Alabama?

Exactly. The SEC is waaaaayyy down this year from top to bottom, it is not yalls fault but it is the way it is

Bama also got extremely unlucky with the whole Penn State thing because they completely shite the bed the rest of the season

same ole shite ya'll said about utah.

same was said about boise earlier this year, yet they beat UGA at HOME.

the fact that bama has 300+ lb linemen doesnt mean they can play with the likes of those speedy little teams like oregon.

7 out of 10, bama may win (my SEC bias). but all you need is 1 out of 10 to win the NC if that night that west coast team you just put down has their good night.

what we know is bama is not better than lsu. had its shot. who knows if a west coast team, or OSU or VT can beat lsu. any given night, you never know.

the arrogance on this board astonishes me sometime.

Agreed. However, a "waaaaayyy down" SEC is still a more difficult conference than the Pac 12 and the Big 12... and we ALL know the ACC is awful

OP keeps ignoring this for some reason

LSU.

Again, I'm not saying its right or wrong but there are voters that don't want a rematch, or think OSU's wins are better than Bama's.

So just don't be surprised when there is a major shift next week should OSU win big and VT lose.

Every computer says that the Big12 is the best conference top to bottom this year.

I wonder if 07 was just an outlier.

Alabama is a unique situation. Nobody expected LSU, Bama, and Arky (3 teams in the same division) to be ranked #1-#3 at one point. That in and of itself provides a solid look at a truly unique situation.
