No one thinks he’s a bad coach but I think it’s pretty clear he didn’t do a great job of meshing his talent, picking the right talent, or coaching the talent he had this year.
It’s like Tennessee’s fans have become so used to being bad at sports over the last 2 decades that they can’t comprehend that when you talk shite and lose, people are going to return it right back to you. Or did no one say anything to LSU fans last year when they lost to UNC in Chapel Hill? I must have also imagined all the “jockey Jay” posts all season until he won a national title…again.

People seem to forget that. I don’t recall LSU doing that same feat after ‘23, they may have forgotten that, but I digress.

No one really talked shite, though? The alters that drum up the conversations, yes. It’s a long baseball season and things change within weeks. Look at Arky, they were the #1 and looked to be the best all around. All the teams are loaded and not one sensible fan bases anything off the few first months. You’re reaching on that. And I do agree that something with the team didn’t gel, especially after the A&M series.

Okay, and how did LSU do in ‘24 comparatively to Tennessee? My whole point was you won in ‘23 and what happened in ‘24? You can sit and pick and chose but what happened in ‘24?

not much worse TBH. LSU dropped a pop fly that would have sent them to the supers. Tennessee went 0-2 in the supers. LSU finished T7th in the SEC. Tennessee finished T7th as well. Biggest difference was LSU played great down the stretch in 24. Tennessee got worse as the season went on this year

I agree with everything you just said. And with both teams, we didn’t have the finish we hoped for. But, that’s what makes baseball a great sport and playing the competition we do.
