They're suppose to be breaking ground on the LSU Foundation on the corner of Bertman/Nicholson soon and begin working on this Gateway following FB season
They might just start on both after the football season ends

I'm really fired up about the growth around LSU over the next few years. We are finally catching up with the rest of the major cities, and we're doing it in a big way. The nicholson project is my favorite, because it's going to sell LSU really well. at least for starters they have demolished those ugly arse apartments next to the track
The UT guys I met here said they stopped in the ghetto off our campus, and I was very embarrassed. they did say they saw the lake area and were impressed at least. But hey, what I'm paying here for what I get...UT students get screwed so hard for living arrangement with the inflated real estate.
The next huge phase for baton rouge is bringing its infrastructure up to speed to match the economic growth. Our roads are already 10+ years out of date, much less when all of this industry begins to come in

so how does that make field turf safer than grass, which is what you claimed?
no that's not what I said, I said players that like to cut prefer a surface that doesn't divot on them, I didn't say you can't get hurt on field turf and I even pointed out why it has it's own unique issue due to footing NOT giving way. Read--Comprehend.. try it.
The study I posted did show fewer injuries on turf than on grass but the analysis was "no significant difference". Maybe the other guy works for a natural grass co., I don't know, I'm sure you can find a study that backs up your view and agenda, he's the one who claimed fewer injuries on grass than turf, I'm simply pointing out studies that say otherwise.

This is the case on both.

All of it is downtown. I haven't seen any new news about them breaking ground on the LSU campus yet. When I head down there, I'll take some pics and post. I couldn't think of any unless they're thinking of removing the parking, and decide to put in some retail stores there.
there are plans on the net you can find. they're removing all of student housing and building that area up.
not talking about golf course. I'm talking about the ole alex box/married housing area.

naw you straight up said acl's wont get torn in field turf due to cleats not sticking...then proceeded to post a study that didnt back up your claim.

Anyone who visits, I encourage all to take the Dalrymple Exit off the interstate, not the Highland Exit

actually, it says exactly who the other guy works for. it was a study conducted by the American Journal of Sports Medicine, so a scholarly study by physicians.

this is what you said.

ask a player if he likes the chance of real grass divoting when he cuts and blowing out his ACL? That really won't happen on new field turf.
that's incorrect and the study you posted, in now way, proves that point

and i'm simply pointing out studies that say otherwise. again, why are your studies more valid and would cause you to speak in such a condescending tone?

Where can I find some renderings of the new LSU Foundation?

the study I posted showed fewer injuries on field turf than grass, and no I never said you can't get hurt on turf, but there are specific types of injuries that are minimized, those resulting from losing footing are one of them.
I don't place a lot of stock in any one study because a study can be and often is biased toward an agenda, depending on who is paying for the study and what they are hoping it will show. This isn't some new issue and Mizzou folks know more than most about serious injuries occurring on turf as well as grass. Mizzou has had a high degree of safety awareness for our athletes for some time now and some of that is because we have had our share of misfortunes with athletic injury. When Henry Josey's career was very nearly ended 3 years ago a lot of us asked a lot of questions about that. Specifically does turf offer any advantage or weakness regarding player injury and safety, and did the condition of our turf play a role in it. We had a number of injuries that season but it turned out that specific game was an anomaly of severe injuries, two players had their season ended in that game.
Statistically overall we had no more or less injuries that season that did the entire conference and league, and while we play our home games on turf, we still practice a good deal on natural grass. So we wound up having about the same number of injuries occur vs both grass and turf. We initially went to turf due to issues maintaining grass in our stadium, but that was well over a decade ago I expect both turf and grass technology have come along way. I think its safe to say if we really wanted grass now, we could have it, and if there was any real evidence pointing to it being safer, we would have already switched back to it because we do take player safety that seriously.
If you want to believe your grass is safer, then believe it all day long, I really don't care, the problem is your "evidence" is no more infallible or conclusive than any of the many studies to the contrary, if you find that condescending somehow, to bad, but you haven't shown anything to prove your claim.

yes, field turf won't divot out from under your foot when cutting off a plant, is that so hard for you to understand?
Are you confusing that with saying you can't get hurt or something? You really seem to be struggling w/ basic comprehension here.

Here some photos I took of Faurot Field when passing through Columbia on Sunday. I took these with my cell phone and at one point my phone starting taking the photos in black in white.
Here are the ones my phone took in black and white. Some actually look good in b/w but some I really wish were in color.

Back in August of 08 I took some photos of the stadium from the top of a parking garage with a cheap digital camera. So I went back up there Sunday and took some new ones with my phone. Some day I'm going to actually take my good camera with me.
Here are the then vs. now photos. You can see how far our stadium has already come in the last few years.

Ugliest Big 5 stadium by far. Sure it's big, but it's terrible looking. Just a series of not well thought out expansions.

Looking good Mizzou.
So glad y'all were the ones to join us in this crazy messed up, fun as all hell, conference.
