I wish we still only had 12 teams.

You are confusing UNC with UNC-Chapel Hill I think.
Chapel Hill doesn't have all the power if that is what you are thinking.

IF UVA either had a Big Ten invite in their back pocket (they are likely high on Delaney's wish list) or was content to stay in a weakened ACC because they have zero desire to be a big-time football power, I could see Va Tech getting the political pull to leave for the SEC.
only if they have an invite to the B1G, if they choose to stay in the ACC VT will be there right along with them suffering.

I'm afraid I don't know the difference.

Don't act like you know NC State bro.
NC State had a very loyal football following but it not a huge following
The football program is average at best even after years in a weak conference but that does show how loyal the fans are.
People i know who went to the champs bowl had nothing but good things to say about state fans

I am curious how UF feels about FSU going to a conference, that is based in TX.
Don't you think that the Gators want FSU to stay in the ACC or reluctantly want them in the SEC?
That way the Texas schools won't be playing in Tallahasee every other week.
I understand that the state of Florida is already the best recruiting state in the country, but why let all these Plains States Schools into their recruting grounds every other week?
If UF is the only hurdle for FSU joining the SEC, don't you think they want to think twice about this.
What am I missing here?
and no, I don't think NCSU or UNC should or will join the SEC. Why would the SEC want mid level football schools to join? I wouldn't drive to Baton Rouge for the Heels or the Pack, but I cannot wait to see us play ATM.

In NCSU's defense, they have the same recruiting problem A&M has had for decades, for similar reasons. They may take off if they do join the SEC.

I think there were some hurt feelings after the SEC invite FSU in the 90s and got told to eff off.

We really dont want UVA. They have a history of getting pissy about "cheating" and de-emphasizing their own athletic program to show everyone how "mr. Jefferson's college" values academics. They basically were a club football team from 1951 to 1982 because ohio state wasn't playing fair. Buddy of mine from Virginia told me there is a lot of talk about de-emphasizing athletics again.

Yeah, let me share the facts with you as someone who is very well tuned in with their athletics. About a decade ago, there were talks of cutting some of the spring programs like baseball and track and field, but that has all gone by the wayside. There are by no means any discussions of deemphasizing athletics. They consistently rank in the top of the Director's Cup even finishing in third place in 2010. Your friend (and whatever you're reading in the always truthful wikipedia) is incorrect.

Is State dumber than Ole Miss? I know they are the two stupidest schools in the SEC, but I thought they were at least somewhat smarter than Ole Miss and maybe Arkansas.
Don't you know, one person always represents an entire fanbase.

imo we should let texas in instead of nc state
ummmm. Yeah. I'm gonna have to go ahead and um....disagree with you on that one.
That would be like inviting a repeat-offending child molester to daycare. I would prefer adding ANYONE over the effing longhorns, but I suppose the SEC members are strong enough to resist the bullshite. The SEC isn't full of Baylor-, Iowa State-, and Kansas-types that will do whatever to make their master happy so they can stay in a AQ conference.
Those cock-smokers wouldn't come to the SEC anyway. All hat, no cattle. They have to be the big dog. Too scared of playing second fiddle to LSU, BAMA, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. It's their God-given right to be number 1 in their state and in their conference. They have proven that they are willing to play in a shitty conference to stay number 1. Why do you think they are so fricking butthurt right now? A&M will be the premier Texas football program almost immediately, and those shits are on the verge of an armed rebellion because of it.

True, but now we are talking about two very important things here:
1. $
2. Access to recruting grounds that would allow UT and OU to the state of Florida.
Yes, yes, I know that the state of Florida is no secret, here. But allowing UT and OU to come to Doak Campbell on Saturdays would leave a bitter taste in the Gators' mouths, right?
Why not allow FSU to enter the SEC before the B12 does.
Something's going to happen so let FSU come in before we are relegated to UNC, NCSU or UVA.
Those programs don't offer the SEC anything but a TV footprint. I as and LSU fan want FSU, not the Carolinas or UVA.
