The problem you run into there is if the team gets hot under an interim coach you have the pressure to hire him as HC.

BTW, Gus is not interested

This is hilarious in that it couldn't be further from the truth. Ole Miss money people have already spoken to several people within the past few weeks. Two of them are SEC assistants - Gus and Kirby - have both expressed an amount of interest in the job.

Ole Miss better get on the phone with Kevin Sumlin before someone else does.

HELL NO!!! I like Sumlin.

I'd be surprised if Sumlin left UH for ole miss though. And that's not a shot at ole miss.

Actually, man this sets up great for the legend of Houston Nutt. He's got nothing to worry about. He is going to lay it on his team like a combination of a Pentacostal preacher and a sideshow barker. He'll fire them up to send him off to retirement in grand style.

Watch out LSU and MSU. You are about to become part of the legend of Houston Nutt.

I wish nothing but the best for the man. I was at least glad he gave me two winning seasons my last two years as a student. Good memories for those two football seasons.

Now Ole Miss has to be very smart in who they hire. Because they can't afford to go getting another coach only for him to lose 3 straight seasons, and then have to fire him as well.

gotta think that Ole Miss is going to have trouble hiring a big name given that the AD is already on the hot seat before the hire....or is the AD going to get canned too?'

ETA: Ole Miss will be NUTS if they let Boone make another football hire.

Dude Ole Miss could let Saban and Myles team up to coach the final three games and still get there sorry arse beat. The bottom line is, you can't cook an Omelette without eggs and Ole Miss doesn't have any eggs!

Houston Nutt doesn't use eggs to make omelettes.
