I feel like we opened the flood gates to this all of a sudden Clemson is legit phenomenon.

Ever since they beat us in the chic fil a bowl they have gone on a tear.

Pisses me off.

I don't like how I can't use the verb "Clemsoning" at this moment in time.

Not really. Dabo built them up slowly over the years. They got better and better each year. Now that Jimbo is out of the ACC, it’s Dabos league every season. Them beating us was like the passing of the torch. They slowly went up from there and we slowly went down

Clemsoning never made any sense given Clemson generally loses to good teams, teams that had a roster as good if not better than Clemson's roster.

I remember people using that expression for Clemson's loss to FSU the year FSU won the title with Winston. lol That FSU team was stacked.

Clemson is definitely coming to the SEC in the next round of expansion.

I don't think that is a good idea because it is going to look like conference stacking. ACC is already at bit of a disadvantage with more private schools and northern schools.

Plus Clemson is one of the founding members of the ACC, back in 1954.

I think it would be cool if one of the MS and AL sec teams came to the ACC so there would be even more state rivalry games that are also SEC vs ACC matchups.

I am not sure SCar would be willing to give up that built in state recruiting advantage. Besides one day Dabo will take a better job offer, and they probably wouldn't be able to compete after that.

How has SC being in SEC been a recruiting advantage for them?

Also, why do you think Clemson can't get another good coach? What is it about Clemson that you think it can't do well under other coaches?

It won a national title in 1981 with a different coach.

I think Clemson could be even better if it got a coach like the one at TCU and Washington.

Hope Clemson has a huge clause in the contract that makes LSU pay big money for backing out of the contract to schedule a series with Nichols State or the like if they begin to start losing the series.

They tend to have that history.

The Aggies also have a history of leaving conferences. How long will A&M need to get tired of Alabama running the SEC before A&M leaves?

Also, while you're playing class historian, why don't you cite a more recent synopsis of why LSU didn't play A&M from 1996 to 2011?

"We've contacted each other and tried to work on it," LSU Associate Athletic Director Verge Ausberry said. "There's no interest in it on their part. The door is open at LSU, but right now we don't have a place for each other."

Said Texas A&M Athletic Director Bill Byrne: "There are several factors that do not work in favor of a series with LSU at this time. Our current league schedule of playing nine games and combined with needing a minimum of six, and preferably seven, home games makes it difficult."

https://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2011/01/lsu_texas_am_to_rekindle_rich.html

After seven consecutive LSU wins, I can now see why A&M didn't want to pick up that game again.

Would be awesome to see. Wonder who will be coaching for each team when the game is actually played. Doubtful it’ll be O for LSU, and depending on how far in future it is, may not be Dabo for Clemson.

Couldn't you make this claim for just about every coach?

That means one neutral site game in Atlanta or Jerry World in 2027.

Not really. I'd expect Kirby to be at UGA for a long time. If Clemson & UGA scheduled a home and home for 2024 I'd still expect Smart to be the coach at UGA at that time. You kind of expect Meyer to still be at OSU (barring health issues) for another 7-10 years. Same with Herman at Texas, Jimbo at A&M, Mullen at Florida.

I don't expect Ed O to be at LSU for another 7 years for sure.

That seems like a premature prediction based on one season.

I don't see any reason why Dabo is more likely not to be at at Clemson than Smart not being at UGA.

This has been reported in the news. LSU is talking to Clemson and Florida State for 2022. Probably will be one or the other, but not both.

LINK

We've also got Texas, UCLA, Oklahoma, and Arizona State already on the schedule through 2030. LSU is generally pretty good about lining up high-profile OOC opponents.

They were on the way up and we were on the way down. Still, I came away from the game feeling like LSU should have won, as we were up 24-13 going into the 4th Q then absolutely fell asleep at the wheel.

You don't see any reason? How about this one:
There is no college job that will come open that appeals to Kirby. Same can't be said for Dabo.

I'm not sure how you can claim the Alabama job will appeal to Dabo or even that Alabama will offer him the job.

It seems delusional to believe Alabama is somehow a better place to be than Clemson. If Dabo was coach at UNC, UVA, etc, I could understand.
