Don't really disagree, but he needs to actually beat Nutt on the field.

Ooooohhhhh! Point meet counter-point! Well-played, duder.

As much as I hate to say it, Nutt could do it again this year. While the man isn't exactly what I'd call an upper-echelon coach, he has a knack for putting the beatdown on his personal rivals. I hope the trend ends in '10.

The "almost" disclaimer saves me from such comebacks.

But even in the NFL, he's been heralded as one of the best offensive playcallers in the game from the likes of Tom Coughlin.

I will be there just to storm the field afterward to take a picture of him. Priceless.

And what will you do if Arkansas loses to him again? Please take a picture of the Arkansas fans in the stadium with the looks on their faces.

Now....you have a plan A and a plan B.

One of two things could have happened when we were looking for a coach. Petrino and someone else not Petrino. We got lucky cause we could have had Kiffin although I truly believe if Petrino did not want or take our job then it would have gone to Will Muschamp and I would have been ok with that.

Jeff Long is a yankee douche he wanted to hire Tommy Bowden but Jim Grobe would have been ok too. He just did not feel it was best for him.

Nutt has somehow been able to put together wins over better teams throughout his career. On paper Arky should have the better squad/coach so they'll just have to play to their level and avoid the curse of the Right Reverend Nutt.

And therein lies the problem. While Nutt has his uncanny ability to pull off the win over a better team, Arkansas also has an uncanny ability to lose to lesser teams at least once or twice in every season.

I'll put it like this: I'm not getting my hopes up this year for the Ole Miss win. I'm too superstitious and I don't want to jinx myself. I will avoid all the shite-talk and simply keep my fingers crossed during the game. Best I can do.

Yeah well Nutt does tend to make it personal. The first year we played him with Ole Miss in Fayetteville they won and he laughed all the way from the stadium to the bus. Literally. I mean the guy does make you hate him really really bad if you are an Arkansas fan.

The hype & speculation has been pretty high. Hell our back-up QB was interviewed on ESPN. I thought that only happened at USC (the real one )

Well if you remember they did get a shitty call on the offensive pass interference at like the 10 with a minute left.

In all honesty, I would be taking it personal, too. Whether he deserved it or not, the fact is that he was straight-up run out of Arkansas. Not just by the fans, but by University officials as well. I'd be all about revenge.

Like when we lost to USC 70-17 and 50-14 in 2005 and 2006 or Vandy in 2005 (after Nutt popped-off about finally getting Vandy on the schedule). How about the Kentucky arse whipping they put on the Hogs 42-29 in '07 or the UNLV debacle loss (14-31) in the '01 Las Vegas Bowl when Nutt used 4 different QBs? There are plenty more but you get the idea.

How can anyone seriously compare Nutt and Petrino?

Petrino > Nutt.

He got what he deserved IMO. Not for a last ditch move he would have been out of the SEC anyway. Banished to Baylor. Those Ole Miss people sure are a gullible bunch.

Never said Nutt didn't lose some he shouldn't have or get totally dominated when he could have made it competitive.

As is Chizik, Malzahn and most of the other coaches in the SEC. When Nutt has to rely on his own recruits, as will be the case this year, all of a sudden his team goes from being hyped as a preseason top 10 team and a serious challenger to the SEC Title to what? Being picked to finish 5th or 6th in the SEC West? I wonder why if the Rebels have done so well recruiting under Nutt? It seems to me that by the third year Nutt will have had plenty of time to get his players in place, just like Petrino has, and his teams should be improving, not regressing.
