Dude he hired a girl he was fricking to work for a state university w/o interviewing over 50 other applicants. He gave the UofA and Long no choice, he fricked himself and his players and coaches over so why should he bad mad at anyone but himself which Im sure he is

If he was just fricking some random broad he'd still be our coach

If the team does really well it's better for Bobby's resume. Everyone already knows it's his team, not John L's.

But wouldn't it boost Bobby's resume even more if the team shite the bed this season?

It would prove that he really was the man behind the success of the team. And, without his brilliance and knowledge they went downhill. Kinda proof that he was key to a successful program.....

I don't think he'd want to see his own brother fail though. He has to be close to a lot of the players too so i think he'd do whatever he can to help...i dont think hes THAT selfish lol

No.

Everyone knows Bobby Petrino's strengths and weaknesses for the most part.

One man is never entirely responsible for any team's success. They can play a major role but it takes an entire team to be really successful.

"Not a bad person": go ask the Atlanta Falcons players what they think of him as a person, not as a coach. Go ask T.Tubberville the same question. Ask the folks at Louiville. Ask the a lot of the big boosters. In the athletic building. He was a loud mouth, coarse, vulgar jerk who could really coach football.

I didn't say he wasn't. But i think he'd stick up for his own brother and players he recruited.

I don't have to ask anyone what to believe, and I can make my own decisions and if I do have questions, I can ask whomever I want.

But thanks for your concern.

shite, that's just his professional life.

Wonder if his wife & kids think he's a "good person?"

I'm sure he'd "stick up" for them too. Maybe he has a stronger sense of loyalty to his players and his brother than he did to his own wife & kids? IDK

I just have doubts that he'll feel compelled to feed the offesive gameplan to his brother week after week. Or that he'll make himself available via telephone with Paul during games.

I don't know. But I do know this: My own dad, in my opinion, was one of the biggest, foul-mouthed assholes I've ever known. Did I respect him? Not always. Did I love him? Not always. Did I like him being on my side? Yes.

ETA: He survived WWII in the Philippines. He used to tell me that the "Nips" were the meanest, most disciplined, most ruthless soldiers in the world. And then he would ask, "...so how did we manage to win?" And then he would add..."We were smarter and meaner, when and where it was needed."

He wants this team to win, so I presume he'll try to help the team in any way possible. If Wilson, Knile, Cobi and our other players do well then it makes him look much better than if the season goes to shite

Him calling Wilson and Knile on his own account shows he cares about them and the team as a whole. No way he wants them to fail

What are you basing your 'decision' off of exactly? Not trying to argue or say that he is a bad person or whatever, just curious.

i agree, great season, shitty season, bobby's mark on the team is golden.

the only thing holding him back from a big job will be how desperate the interested program is.

Not saying he wasn't a foul-mouthed a-hole. Foul-mouthed assholes I can deal with...just can't stand a candy-arse.

First of all, to your father for his service.

There's nothing wrong with a foul-mouthed a-hole (hell we got one running the Bama program and we love him).

I was strictly speaking of BP's extra-martial activities. Not his dickish personality.

Thanks. I just wish he was still around.

I hear ya. I like Nick Saban. But most of all, I respect him.

I can only speak for myself. I went through that crap with my dad as well. He did some really stupid things. I even threatened his life once. He replied, "I raised you to not put up with bullshite so I know you mean it." ...and he never did it again. I was 18 years old at the time. He did apologize and I managed to learn the importance of forgiveness.
